If you've read/watched Invincible, then Malcador the Sigilite is in some ways like Cecil, working with heroes but willing to try more morally grey methods to safeguard humanity. Of course it's a silly comparison because there are more facets, roles and powers to him. Yes, one time Malc basically force choked Horus. This was after things went awry with the 2nd and 11th legions, or more specifically their primarchs, and the Imperium was in the middle of wiping them from public discourse and memory. This meant even the other primarchs were sworn to not speak the names of the "lost" two brothers. I think it might've been when their statues were removed on Terra, Horus snapped in some big or small way. He was joined by underrated critical thinker Jaghatai Khan, ever wary of tyrants, and Alpharius, who was probably thinking "let's see how this plays out" as much as anything else lol. Malcador met with them, things got heated, and he used his immense psycher abilities to forcibly prevent Horus from uttering the lost brothers' names! That said, just as with the Emperor, each primarch had differing relationships with Malcador, some even called him their uncle. It's important to note that some of their power levels varied too. While Malcador could clearly dominate Horus at that time, once some primarchs gave themselves to Chaos, they definitely gained or unlocked more powers, however much that translates to being more powerful. Meanwhile, after some other events, Malcador might've weakened in some ways (despite his huge political, strategic, and psychological clout). This power fluctuation informs the debate in chat as to if Malcador or Magnus the Red was the 2nd most powerful psyker. I know this is your introduction to Malcador, yet it's long established lore that when big E confronted Horus and they dueled, Malcador sat on the golden throne to operate it, but to say the least it was a... draining ordeal. However, once in newer lore, the Emperor showed Magnus a vision of him using the throne, with his mind blissfully free. Thus the Emperor planned for Magnus, the Red Cyclops, to use the throne and endure it well. I still like heresay and mystery mixed into the lore, but I can totally understand if the primarchs have some of the same questions of the Emperor that we did of the writers. The novels had plenty of questions to play with... For instance Corvus Corax and his legion, the Raven Guard, were both always numbered XIX. I understand Corvus asked the Emperor how he and his legion were 19th if there were only 18 legions (since he was found after the other two were lost it seems). There are a bunch of clues and breadcrumbs about the two lost primarchs, but here's one about the thunder warriors. Long ago I mentioned there are several marks of astartes power armour, to show the progression and age of them in the setting. Firstborn space marines still count and wear combinations of mark 2 to mark 8 power armour, each with a name, but the first mark is called Thunder Armour. The early astartes used it on Earth, with its open helmet and unpowered legs, but of course it was named for the thunder warriors! I hope that's a kinda fun read, haha, and you're having a wonderful day! :)

Malkador basically nourished and educated Alpharius, it was the great triarchy of Malkador, Valdor and Alpharius on the dawn of the Great Crusade. It is why the saddest emotions for the Emperor was betrayal of Alpha Legion, he said that it is something he would never expect. Not a surprise, since they were together from the beginning and Alpharius was in the epicentre of planning and could understand as mo one else, how important those plans were

Intresting thing about the two primarchs and why there seem to be so much "hush hush" about them, is that they must have done something really really f*ucking bad or something really bad was done to them. So much so that all traces and records of them is completely wiped out. Even the memory of them is removed from the ones that knew them, like even the primarchs, emperors own sons had their memories wiped. So the only ones who knew about this is the Emperor and Malcador. As there 2 main things about the two primarchs that is in the lore. 1. When Rogal Dorn was given back his memories temporarly, he feel down to his knees and looking really depressed and dead inside with later asking Malcador to take the memories away from him. 2. Then in another case when Horus tried to utter their names infront of Malcador as a spite like the little sh*t he is, Malcador who is basically an uncle to the primarchs instantly went darth vader style and forced choked Horus and nearly killed him. So it's deffinetly one of the biggest mysteries in Warhammer 40k, like you wondering WTF did happen to be this serious?

Luetin made this before the release of the book Valdor: Birth of the Imperium, so one thing has changed regarding the Ararat massacre. The imperium doesn't give a shit about the truth coming out. It's irrelevant, literally nobody cares, and the event was rightly expected to be forgotten.

They really don't? Interesting I assumed at least the Astartes would care. But it's been 10k years now, the times are different so I guess why would they. Though I have a hunch had this information been available around the time of the Great Crusade, they would've cared very much. Imagine dudes like Abaddon finding out about it lol
@Dimetropteryx5 ай бұрын
@@ironduke5058 The Astartes have probably been aware of it all along, although it's likely forgotten in the 41st millennium. It certainly wasn't forgotten during the Heresy (eg Endryd Haar knew them well). The first ones were around when the TWs were wiped out, and they participated in putting down a couple of their rebellions after the massacre (Dark Angels and War Hounds/World Eaters). At any rate, it's almost completely forgotten and personally I doubt they'd believe the truth, and if they believed it they would still probably agree with the decision considering who made it. Even some surviving Thunder Warriors accepted the decision without feeling resentment.

Then I took my shades off". That game did a great job of far simplifying the previous (non-GW) game a lot of us were playing called Car Wars. Car was was incredible and a complete world of insane technical car modifications etc, but was just so in-depth and tended to simulate the minutiae of car combat fights that in real time lasted maybe 15 seconds! I still remember my awesome luxury car the Victor Ludorum, with its mine droppers, vulcan machine guns and side mounted flame jet streamers. Lovely. I also had a hovercraft that combined a minigun turret and missile pods with dual heavy cryogenic ice droppers (which made control very hard for cars but didn't affect my hovercraft).

One of the missing Primarchs landed on an Ork world. He was also green, sort of like Magnus was Red. Then the Green Primarch started smashing orks and became a warboss. So the Emperor had to put him down for good and have everyones mind wiped of the embarrassment of having an Ork for a kid. The other Primarch landed on a planet full of entertainers. So all he wanted to do was sing, dance and put on musical theater. Again the Emperor had to have him put down cause of the potential embarrassment of it all.
