I can only braid my hair when it's blowdried. It's so thick that when it's wet, it doesn't stay. Nice video and I've learned a lot.

I learn how to braid when i was 10 years old, my mom taught me, now my daughters can braid as well because i taught them, they even do their own hair. I do twist every two to three weeks, by the way love the vid.!

I'm going to try that tip about using the deep conditioner on wet hair. I always towel dry first. I'm one of those ppl that think deep conditioning is often times a waste. It's always just sitting on my hair even after being under the dryer for 20 minutes. I will not sit under a dryer any longer than 20 minutes.
@TianaMichelle_4 жыл бұрын
I hope it works for you! 🙌🏾

You can try a steamer too

Honestly when i feel like my DC isn't doing anything, I actually leave it on for LESS time. because it could be that my hair absorbed everything it could and the heat actually started dehydrating it all over again. I try to just steam for 10 min max after applying it and found that works better for me. It could also be over moisturized too, i'm not sure, but experiment and see

I started washing my hair in sections and oooooomg, it has made my life easier. My favorite shampoo is sulfate free, and it's by Design Essentials Natural. I detangle when I prepoo, gets that out of the way, fast.

I do this style all the time. I love it. So easy and cute, I don't really like the way my braids shrink they end up stiffening and curling up everywhere. I hope it does that less as my hair grows.

How long do these braids normally last you? Whenever I do them they only last for like 3 days before they start to get frizzy and i end up having to refresh them
@TianaMichelle_4 жыл бұрын
Mine last me a week and I think it’s because I use a moisturizer and product that has hold like gel. However, climate can also play a part in how long your hairstyles last especially if you live in a humid environment.

I have high porosity hair and my hair would break and fall out a lot. I know people say not to leave rice water in your hair, but I did an experiment last week and left rice water and sone conditioner in my hair for a week, braiding my hair like this, but with ponytails in the back because if I braid all the way down, the ends curl up and I look like the Wendy's sign (black version), so I do that. My hair was soft and I had less breakage throughout the week and yesterday (wash day) I had way less shedding and breakage. Not sure if it was the rice water, but I left it in again and braided my hair in two braids like this, but I think I'm going to rinse it out maybe tomorrow and rebraid my hair with a twist cream I have and some olive oil product thing, seal that in with some JBCO and that's it and I'll see what happens throughout the week: Did my hair dry out or was it moisturized and soft? Did it frizz? How much shedding and breakage happened? All that stuff.

I think that’s the unfortunate thing about any style that involves tension (braids, updos, ponytails etc) too much of it can be bad 😩

Change where you put your part. Do a diagonal part or plait across the head. I have the same problem.
@irrelevance38594 жыл бұрын
I had that problem. I love my middle parts too much. But to combat I just switch it out with zigzag, deep side parts, curved parts etc. Not my favourite parts (I prefer straight middle) but it prevents thinning.
