I even went on KZbin to watch the video of Rent with its original/premiere cast, the one where they had no set designs, just raw emotion on stage and watch Larson play 30/90 is just heartbreaking. I would not have thought of Garfield if casting this movie myself, but seeing it proves he is PERFECT as Jonathan Larson. Believe it or not, he was scared shitless to film this scene (because it was a one take impromptu a capalla solo that’s meant as a song to work the crowd up and Garfield was not much of a singer) If I didn’t hear that from Andrew himself, I wouldn’t believe it. He just feels so natural here.

But now that Disney’s “Encanto” is super popular-LMM connected that movie to this one with that one reference. My apartment's bathroom didn't come with a lightbulb and for a long time I just had no light. It's such a specific problem that this song called me out on.
