For those that don't know - the woman in the teal scarf at 1:04 is Julie Larson (the real Jon Larson's sister), who produced the movie and was heavily involved. She praised Andrew Garfield's performance, and even said that watching him perform at times felt like she was seeing her brother again.

This ending had no right to hit this hard, this whole movie had no right to hit this hard Jonathan Larson's story isn't just his, it's everyone's. It's an inspiration to all those who are struggling, feeling worthless, burdened, afraid of running out of time, its an inspiration for them to keep at it because sooner or later you will make it, we are all surrounded by despair, by fear but we can still choose to be driven by love, love for our work, love for our friends and family and most importantly, love for ourselves. This one scene is just so well done, he doesn't have the success he's dreamed of, he does not have a second chance of bringing back the love of his life whom he himself drove away, his best friend is sick and has difficulty expressing his identity, many of his friends have died, he's 30 and time is running out for him but he still chooses to be driven by love, to do what he loves and its beautiful and what's better he's supported by the people he loves, people who have helped him hone his craft, his inspirations, his mentor, all of them and that final tune of Happy Birthday is so weirdly triumphant, it just works.

This song is so beautiful 😭 It's like he's asking "cages or wings which do you prefer?" And the logical answer might seem simple like who would prefer cages right? But the examples he gives throughout the song, "why do we refuse to hang the lights when the streets are dangerous?" "Why should we try to be our best? When we can just get by and still gain?" It seems like we always choose suffering that's why he says "actions speak louder than words" and i love the lyric "why does it take catastrophe to start a revolution?" Like why do we wait things to burn down and why don't we take the action before something horrible happens? And the whole "fear or love" thing 😭 it's like if we fear then we would do the logical things like we won't try to be our best cause we can just get by and gain but we don't do that, we choose love and thus our actions are not logical. Humans are driven by love not by fear.

Andrew Garfield deserves the Oscar for his performance in this movie. He has shown his acting skills not just with a single type of movie. Its from musical, action, adventure, war, and drama. I get chills every single time I listen to this song.

In my opinion, tick, tick... BOOM! is undoubtedly one of the best musicals ever, and is a chef’s kiss to Musical Theater. Thank you Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andrew Garfeild, the amazing cast, and most of all, Jonathan Larson.

The crescendo up to his final delivery of "actions speak LOUDER!" at 4:03 is my most replayed moment on all of KZbin. It's such a triumphant delivery and way to wrap up a brilliant film.

I don’t know if anyone who worked on this movie will ever see this, but I just want the creators to know how much their work here means to me. I can’t think of another movie in the past ten years or more that has affected me so deeply. I’m a 28-year-old disabled writer, and I connect to Jonathan Larson's story on a visceral level. The desire to create regularly takes precedence over other things in my life, as does the notion that I may be running out of time. I especially love that moment in the Therapy scene when Jonathan starts writing a song in his head, right in the middle of trying to make up with Susan. It’s such a poignant moment that speaks to the obsessive nature of artists everywhere. Also, because I have a progressive disability, I've lost friends in my community too soon, and I worry every time one ends up in a hospital. Seeing Jonathan lose friends during the AIDS epidemic hit me on another note. This movie is absolutely beautiful from start to finish, and it continually provides me with hope, empathy, and a reflection of my own story every time I watch it. And of course, I listen to the soundtrack religiously. Thank you to the entire cast and crew for putting this out in the world, and thank you Jonathan Larson for your spirit and artistic ingenuity.

I had high hopes for this movie since seeing the trailer, and it still managed to blow me away. For someone with no singing experience, Andrew’s voice and performance has so much appeal and earnestness. You can tell he put so much heart and respect into this role to do justice to Jonathan Larson and his story.

I’ll never tire of the looks of pride on the faces of both Ira and Rosa about halfway through - two of his biggest and most influential supporters when not many others would go near him with a barge pole seeing the fruits of their belief in full flow. This movie is damned beautiful.
