And he didn't forget how to lead our throw passes just because he wasn't in his prime. All dirk had to do was score. Didn't have to defend. Didn't have to really rebound. Didn't need to put guys in position. He just needed to score. It was the greatest ruin because he went through 3 GREAT teams and then beat the Miami heat who had a prime lebron james (although the team wasn't that good, it's just lebron and dwade playing together for only 5 months was good enough to make a finals).

Any other team beat two 60-win teams on the way to the championship...both without home-court advantage like the 93 Bulls? The 96 Bulls also beat two 60-win teams. So did the 97 Bulls.
@sportstalkonly1442Ай бұрын
The bulls had 2 all nba players and 3 all defensive players and that has only happened 5 times in nba history. The bulls did it twice 1993 and 1996. In fact in 1996, scottie pippen was 1st team all nba, 1st team all defense, 2nd in dpoy and 5th in mvp. Rodman led the league in rebounds and was 1st team all defense. Toni kukoc was sixth man of the year. Phil jackson was coach of the year. Kerr shot the best percentage from 3. and I haven’t even gotten to jordan. The 96 bulls had 4 hofs, 3 all defensive players, 2 all nba players, the best coach, the sixth man of the year, ron harper who averaged 20ppg the previous season, and kerr who shot the best percentage from 3. they had the best player, best coach, best all around player, the 3 best defenders at their position, and the sixth man of the year
@TayGee-mh8eoАй бұрын
@sportstalkonly1442 You act like Steve Kerr was someone to write home about. LOL He was on the bench of every team he played for. And there were many. Secondly, it is indeed impressive when a team wins 87 out of a possible 100 games (reg season + playoffs) beating two 60 win teams along the way. Name another team that did it. I'll wait... As for the 93 team, again...name a team that beat two 60 win teams in the playoffs without homecourt advantage. Waiting...
@sportstalkonly1442Ай бұрын
@TayGee-mh8eo when did I say it wasn't impressive. I simply named the bulls roster and how talented they were. And the best you could do is mention Steve kerr. And since when did the amount of wins a team has determine how good they are? Because when lebron swept a 60 win, 4 allstar hawks team it meant nothing. When he beat a 73 win team it apparently meant nothing.

@sportstalkonly1442 Most of what you said was garbage, I just didn't feel like taking the time of opposing every point. Being a Hall-of-Famer doesn't mean the guy is playing at an all-star level in any given year. Jordan played with an old George Gervin, who is an HOF player, but wasn't when he played with MJ. How many HOF players were all-stars when they played with MJ? Take the 96 team. How many all-stars? Just two. But they won 72 games. Dennis was on the back end of his career and didn't even start all the games during his Bulls run. Kukoc got in the HOF based on his European career, not anything he did with the Bulls. Scottie missed almost half the season in 98. The only guy that played every game during the Bulls 2nd ThreePeat was one Mr Michael Jordan. I didn't mention LeBron so I don't know why you felt the need to. I don't bother talking about guys that like to stack the deck every year but want the same credit as guys who grinded to the top. Like Stockton said, LeBron took a helicopter to the top.

@@holdmyweight3597that argument doesn't hold up since the Rockets routinely dismantled the Bulls for 3 straight yrs with a 5-1 record of blowouts. (Early 90s to mid...not late 90s) Basically Rockets problem was other teams in the West....not anyone in the East. ( primarily Seattle Supersonics) 95 Rockets beat damn near 3 60 win teams San Antonio 62-20 Utah 60-22 Phoenix 59-23 They beat the #1, #2, and #3 seed in the West And then proceeded to beat the #1 seed in the East. Hakeem Directly destroyed the League MVP in David Robinson And outplayed Shaquille O’Neal Two of the Greatest Centers ever Hakeem also led his team past 3 of the greatest power Forwards ever....Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, and Dennis Rodman ( also one of the greatest defenders ever who also tried to guard Hakeem) And a footnote.....MJ is on record for stating that he wasn't for sure that the Bulls had the right personnel to beat the Rockets ( the one team the Bulls rarely beat) He said this right before the Last Dance Documentary came out. Also in March of 92, Jordan gave a back handed compliment to the Rockets by stating..." We are glad the Rockets can't make it out the West because we had no answer for the big African" (Hakeem)

@@guanoguy4800in addition to what I wrote to the other person stating why Hakeem run was better.... Durant/ Westbrook/ and Durant were all still babies....(although good, they didn't know how to win yet) Everyone Hakeem beat were all more seasoned veteran stars in the West who were more battle tested. Also Hakeem directly dismantled the MVP David Robinson....who actually plays Hakeem same position In 2011 Derrick Rose was the MVP....Dirk didn't face him and Rose doesn't even play the same position Hakeem went through two of the Greatest defenders ever in both Robinson and Rodman who tried to guard Hakeem. My next gripe is that Miami Heat team had just newly formed and was their first yr together....they didn't know how to play with each other yet. Dwade had to tell Lebron the following yr after that he was going to take a back seat to Lebron because he was smart enough to know Lebron James was greater than him. Hakeem's 95 run would have something to say about that.... 1. Beat damn near 3 60 win teams 2. Beat the #1,2 and 3 seed in the West 3. Then beat the #1 seed in the East 4. Hakeem Directly dismantled the league MVP in David Robinson who plays Hakeem's direct position ( Dirk didn't even play the league MVP...Derrick Rose, which doesn't even play his direct position) 5. Hakeem beat 3 of the greatest post defenders ever in Robinson, Rodman and Shaq (2 of the Greatest Centers Ever) 6. 3 of the greatest Power Forwards Ever in Karl Malone, Charles Barkley and Rodman 7. And every team out West was already battled with great Chemistry and Barkley had recently won the MVP. Now you can bring up Kobe but The problem I have with Dirks run is that the names sound good of the players but the situation at the that particular time doesn't quite add up to what Hakeem faced. Durant/ Harden and Westbrook were all babies and although good, didn't know how to win yet Everyone Hakeem faced in the West were all battle tested perennial superstars. The 2011 Miami Heat team was newly formed and it took a yr later for Dwade to tell Lebron that he was going to take a back seat because he knew he was greater than him. Less Chemistry and youth between OKC and Miami is what makes Hakeem's run better. 95 Magic team had better Chemistry than that 2011 Heat team and would have beaten them
