Actually that was a franchise changing pick they missed out on. They didn't even play the player they drafted(Darko) when they won that championship. But by not picking Melo, they missed out on being a dynasty and completely altered Melo's career. I remember when this happened. All the haters started with the LeBronze James mess when Larry Brown was the real reason. It made me look back at what he did to A.I. and question if he did it for the good of the team or just to knock A.I. down and show him that Larry Brown had the power. The only reason I watched the Olympics was to see what the younger, more athletic guys were going to bring for the US basketball team. Larry Brown’s ego ruined the team and the gold.

What bothers me most about Larry Brown is his smugness, that "I'm superior to everyone else" attitude that was dripping off him in that interview. He came across as supremely arrogant and yet he never touched a ball, just pitiful.

Larry brown and the coaching staff was not cohesive and they had a bunch of young players. Marbury and Iverson didn’t fit team USA. Those players don’t fit team USA.

Larry Brown was the worst coach in that situation. The best shooter on the team(Carmelo) didn't play. A lot of the original players that commented back out at the last minute, that hurt as well.
