I was looking forward to this one. It’s always interesting to hear from the opposing side. Speaking honestly, and even Mikal says he’s a realist, the majority of the Suns were not ready for a game 7. He said he knows what game 7s are like but there’s no way of really knowing it until you experience one. From the moment Phoenix went up 3-2 in the series I told my friend who’s a Phoenix fan, “You guys better win in 6 because you won’t win game 7.” Luka and the MAJORITY of the Mavs were in a game 7 against Kawhi, PG, and the Clippers the year before. They already had that experience and they played like it. I honestly believe that if the Suns had the same Game 7 experience as the Mavs, it would’ve been down to the wire but as it stood, Mavs had a psychological advantage from the get-go and tuned everything else out while the Suns folded under the pressure due to their inexperience. And, unfortunately, the one who would’ve been able to bring knowledge and experience to his team, Chris Paul, had been 0-6 in game 7s at that point so he was probably feeling even more pressure than everyone else and couldn’t take it either.
