I like how the different hideouts are themed to each area, and it makes some sense for the Riften hideout to be more developed due to its proximity to the Thieves Guild, but, yeah, Elianora homes can feel rather 'samey' after a while. Personally I'd like a paid home to be on the scale of the unusual places in the game; say, like, Eldergleam Sanctuary. Or they could provide an upgradable estate similar but different to Goldenhills Plantation.

@TiddlyOggy8 ай бұрын
No there are some really good ones out there, but most are pretty average tbh, the point I was trying to make is that if you're charging a decent amount of cash for something, you have to give something better than what's already available for free
@panzer008 ай бұрын
@TiddlyOggy the problem with "paid mods" is that they are not officially supported by Bethesda. They are not fully integrated into the base game and Bethesda has no obligation to patch Skyrim with consideration for these mods and making sure they don't break, that is the mod author's responsibility. I think people may presume that they are just like Creations and that is not true. Most of the "Verified Creations," as they're called, aren't even available on Playstation because of Sony's third party asset restrictions. People complained so much about Creation Club but at least -those mods- _that content_ -were- _was_ fully integrated, supported by Bethesda and available on all platforms. Maybe in 10 years they'll re-re-re-release Skyrim with all of the Verified Creations fully integrated into the base game, lmfao.
@TiddlyOggy8 ай бұрын
You're right about the "Creations", tbh, I'm so used to playing with mods that didn't even cross my mind. But my points still valid, you can't (or at least shouldn't) be charging for stuff that's not as good as free stuff... God I hope they don't do another release, I'm working on a new "Best Start For Skyrim AE", and I want it to be the last one I have to do

Good to have back my man, I agree with what you said about the quality and pricing btw... I thought you were going to be doing Starfield content, what happened there?
@TiddlyOggy8 ай бұрын
I have no issue with paid mods, but they have to be of a higher quality than the free ones out there, as for Starfield, I'm struggling to get my head round it enough to do a video, I just feel nothing towards that game which is a real disappointment, I was (stupidly) expecting so much more
@EdwardAmarille8 ай бұрын
elianora has done some beautiful work as always, and you have done an amazing job showing the creation. too bad these new creations count as mods, Bethesda still hasnt learned to seperate their creations from the free mods for achievements for console players

I wonder if those fast travel shields work in Survival mode. Also, way too many home creations and mods already exist. I get that home mods is Elianora's wheelhouse but why would I pay for a home mod when I have like 20 homes from AE and a plethora of free home mods already?

I love this mod! The only thing I haven't figured out is why my trove isn't working for me, I put things inside and they disappear from the trove, is there a prerequisite for use?
@deathjoker6668 ай бұрын
After figuring out how to get it to work, I think it's a decent thing. It wasn't the creator's fault but had to disable the mod and it didn't show in the load order. Bethesda needs to fix the issue.
@Leto858 ай бұрын
Ok, how did you even find the ones that are not in Solitude and Whiterun? I have read the description of the mod, I have read the notes noted in their locations, but all I found were the two hideouts in Solitude and Whiterun, with their respective fast travel points which would lead me to other city's entrances, not to other hideouts which I would found more logical if it were. As a prevent Survival Mode player with little fast-travel options I love this mod. It's very convenient to get around quicker.

I had to run around for a bit, that's why I made a point of showing their locations, it was a little like the "Wild Horses" mod in some ways

@Tiddly Oggy: I've read in another comment here that you feel nothing towards Starfield. From other comments I've read and videos I've watched I see a lot of people comparing Starfied to Skyrim which I get: they're both from the same company and they both inhabit a similar playstyle with their open-world and leveling system. But do you compare Starfield to modded Skyrim or to Skyrim as how it was when it first released? I understand people comparing Starfield to modded Skyrim, but I wonder if that's fair. On the one hand I think it is fair because we're living now in 2024 and games can be even bigger than they were in 2011 when Skyrim released. But on the other hand, I think it is not fair because expectations for Starfield even released were set so skyhigh that it became almost impossible to keep up for the game developers. What are your thoughts on this?
@TiddlyOggy8 ай бұрын
I was going to do a review of it (maybe I still will)... They've taken a few things from their previous games, but it's poorly implemented, where in Skyrim it's all about exploring and finding all sorts of hidden little gems all over the place, Starfield is just empty, the story is lacklustre, side quests are uninteresting, the written characters are not unlikeable, you just end up simply not caring about them at all, they tried to be all things to all men and ended up with a game that isn't bad, it's much worse than that, it's mid... I'd be more forgiving if they'd tried something exciting and got it wrong, but they chose to play it safe... I played it through to NG+, and I had a reasonable time doing it, but unlike say Skyrim amongst others I'd want to go again with a different build, I found I just couldn't be bothered... As for the modding thing, my mods are just aesthetics, the gameplay is still vanilla, Skyrim makes you feel invested, Starfield leaves you empty
@Leto858 ай бұрын
@@TiddlyOggy About the emptiness, from what I've seen (and I mean seen; I haven't played the game myself) I think that is beautiful from a realistic standpoint: most of space probably is empty as far as we can tell, and so are it's life-absent planets. From a gameplay perspective however I totally get the boredom you may experience. But then: Skyrim is one country where Starfield is more than just a couple of solar systems as far as I can tell. I think Bethesda did a clever move by having Earth unhabitable as having to design an entirely functional planet with all our cultures and animals would be impossable. It sure leaves room for DLC and modders though. I see you've found no replayability in Starfield. Okay, that is indeed a huge downside. Lots of timeless gems such as Sims, Pokémon, and of course our Skyrim has replayability for the reasons we both know. How about completing though? There were some things you could collect? From what I saw I do like how you can decorate your houses, something Skyrim was simply lacking - maybe due to the engine-limits. I've heard you can start sort of a business like a mining monopoly with different outpost to have a steady income in the game. That sounds like fun to me in a way that I loved the East Empire Expansion mod in Skyrim which is still my favourite among the pay mods.
@Leto858 ай бұрын
Btw, I hope you'll still do a review on it. You have much knowledge about both games.
@Leto858 ай бұрын
Before I forgot: time dilation is not a thing in Starfield, is it? It would have been so cool if it was. Imagine the possibilities and testing we could do. I may would have bought the game just for that.
@TiddlyOggy8 ай бұрын
If you want that kind of game, then you look to IP's like Elite Dangerous, the space flight in that game is awesome. Starfield (to me anyway) simply doesn't do anything well, it's okay on most levels, but never more than okay, it feels like it had no direction and is trying to please everyone, and ending up pleasing no one... Maybe I will do a review on it when I get a chance 🤷🏻♂️

I personally would hang fire on that, $6 is way too much money for what you're getting from this mod (it's why I did the video), if you go onto the Bethesda website and search for Skyrim mods, you'll probably find a whole heap of stuff as good, if not better for free--- Tbh, you can get the PS4 Anniversary Edition for around £20 at the moment (less if you wait for a deal) that will give you an absolute crap ton of Creations included in the price, some of them are pretty good too
