Tie Dye Buttercream Mini Cake! Version 3

Today’s yummy adventure features a green Tie Dye Mini Cake! I haven't done this decorating technique since last summer, and I forgot how much fun it is! I definitely want to try more fun color combos with this technique, especially with Spring and Summer right around the corner! What other kind of color combinations should I use while making tie dye mini cakes??

I’ve never seen shimmery buttercream. Because it’s opaque I just don’t think it’s possible, at least not without more lustre dust than it would ever be worth. Usually shimmery or metallic elements on a cake are added afterwards on the surface, by brushing or dusting, or if you want to be super luxurious, leafing. People definitely paint entire sections of buttercream with gold. It would take forever on a cake with this much white but it’s not impossible.

Like, a primary color tie-dye would be cool. Especially since the colors don’t melt together like dye on a t-shirt. I think it really pop!

I've always loved a combination of dark blues, purples and then a yellow or some other warm colour. It reminds me of galaxy themes and looks very cozy

I've never done tie dye with buttercream and I think I'll stick with using fondant for tie dye. Lot less work, less mess and I personally like the way it looks better, imo.
