I really, really LOVE this shirt! The colors and the thick fold. I don't know how easy, the fold seems thick and hard to manage, you do it so perfectly, but the colors! So beautiful!

I use Gildan t shirts for my tie dye. I really like their Hammer ts. Especially in the autumn and winter. I find them thick, soft and good value. Loved this design and I'll be giving it a go, with a different colour palette.

That would be a pretty combination. I’m not sure if I saw her tutorial or not. She doesn’t make tapestries too often anymore. I’m too busy to pay attention… When I googled it Mr. Tie Dye popped up. I haven’t seen his either. Hence why I said I’m not original. It’s a basic fold and depending on the dye placement I think many different looks can be achieved. I’ll play around with it more. ❤️🌈

I like Lemon Yellow because it doesn't split and when you want a stark contrast between two colors... Lemon Yellow is really good for that. You got great saturation, and I love wearing Kirkland T-shirts...dyed or not. They are very comfortable to wear

Beautiful shirt! So this might be a super dumb question, but why the ice dye method? Would it not look the same if you just put the same fold pattern and squirted the same colors of mixed dye in similar areas? I am a novice so maybe there is something about the ice method I am not understanding.

No dumb questions. It would look sort of similar but not exactly. Ice dye splits down and flows whereas liquid is true color and would have more defined edges. These particular colors don’t split as much as others do. I have many tutorials both ice and liquid. If you spend some time watching some you might be able to see a difference for yourself. ❤️🌈

I have not seen an Octopus on KZbin. Look in the ice dye group. I have seen a woman do some type of underwater scene and they look really beautiful. In the search bar type “octopus tie dye.” A lot of my red single color spirals remind me of an octopus arm. ❤️🌈 #octopustiedye

This is an amazing shirt Steph!!!! Question? With your ice machine do you have it hooked up to a water source? I ordered the ice machine but after I got it I realized it needed a water source. I thought for some reason that I could just pour water into a reservoir and it would make from that. So.....it is still not eung used and I'm so frustrated!!!!

The nugget ice is a closed loop system. I fill the reservoir and it does it’s thing. The big machine gets filled with a 3 gallon jug that sits on top and drains into a bucket. I have unboxing tutorials on all three ice machines I have. I suggest you look at those for the full example and the links are down below in the description box for further investigation. ❤️🌈

So, ballpark, how much powdered dye of each color did you use? 1 Teaspoon? 3 Tablespoons? 1 Ounce?

A tsp or two. Not a lot. I waste more dye with liquid I don’t use up and pour down the drain… A two ounce jar of dye lasts me a long time. Hope this helps. 😁❤️🌈
