Tie-Dye Designs: Reverse Dyed Dress [That I Gravity Ice Dyed]

In this video I show and explain the process that I used to make this beautiful single gravity dyed dress. I used Out White Brite to remove part of the color before gravity ice dyeing the dress.

I really like how it came out. Like Rhonda says, what's not to like about purples! You're so right, the design is great with this type of dress. Yeah, it can be hard to be random. I thought the lines might be more black, but it turned out great. I do really like it. Always so interesting how things turn out. Thanks!!!

Thank you! I really love this one. The dress started a gray color and some of the lines are the original color and some of them are a little lighter.

It's purples, what's not to love?! Seriously though, I really like it. I've seen you mention a few times about having to bring pieces in because of rain. Try leaving them in the rain. Some of my best dyes have been rain dyes. Either ice dyes that got rained on or set out to have just rain on them.

Thank you! I have been wanting to do some rain dyeing. Where I live though rain usually comes with strong winds that will either knock my items off of the guttering or turn them over. We rarely get a nice gentle rain.

It’s beautiful! Do you think doing gravity method is worth doing with all the sinew ties? It looks like a lot of babysitting and adjusting. I bought that basket today but mine looks taller. Thanks 🙏🏽

Thank you! No, I don't think the effect of a gravity dye shows up as much on this dress with all the sinew ties as it does other items without the sinew lines to stop or slow down the dye flow. I tried it because I was gravity dyeing something else at the time. However, I wouldn't do this setup again specifically for a dress tied this way. I love gravity dyes though.
