That's when I went ballistic!!! Seriously, thank you so much for your efforts, and congratulations on having your work featured in the new mod. I must've played this game and its expansions from start to finish a dozen times throughout my life. The dynamic music was an amazing achievement, only emulated by non-MIDI music in recent years. It contributed so much to the atmosphere and the hype your felt when destroying those puny rebels and those treasonous imperial commanders

It's good that dosbox can export the midi. I ran all my videos through a soundfont and it made a big difference, yours is the most realistic I've heard nice job!

i had the french version... that is it had french subtitles. all other voices were in english. except for this line! 'entrez votre nom pilote". always though that was weird... i'm not complaining though, original voices are perfect!

Heard your work in the newly released Tie Fighter Reconstructed mod. You did a great job! It's great to have the real battle music back, and the remastered tracks breathe new life into the game. Are you planning on remastering the music for the battle cutscenes and some of the other songs that didn't make it into the Windows 95 version, like the concourse music? I'd love to hear that stuff get the same treatment.

Great ;-) I'm also reading the various conversion and other project in the description and have to add that once I made a little hack on TIE and XWING so that they are easier to play with a mouse. It's a less-than-1k *.COM exeutable that sits in between the mouse driver interrupt (0x33) and the game and is designed to keep the menu functions as-is but alter mouse usage at flights. It basically works the following way: imagine an imaginary mouse cursor when flight is on and think of it as a joystick controller... if the imaginary mouse pointer is above the center, the ship keeps descending (without further moving the mouse) and if the mouse is below, ship descends. Also if the mouse pointer is to the left of the center, the ship constantly turns left.... - Technically btw this is really what happens when the hack is applied as it asks the mouse for coordinates and keep telling constant motion to the game when the mouse is above/below/left/right the origin.... it works really well for me as I cannot fight without a joystick otherwise but with this hack I can complete the game so it can be an alternative for people who does not have xbox controllers ;-) The hack is here: ballmerpeak.web.elte.hu/TIEHACKZ.COM Btw this also works in dosbox well and I tested it with TIE, but it should work with XWING too I quess ;-) Btw going back to music... no one gonne make a metal/rock version of some songs in TIE? I don't use a 'soundfont', I use EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Platinum Plus PLAY! Edition, EWQL RA percussion, EWQL Stormdrum 2, and EWQL Symphonic Choirs. Very expensive programs.

The "Vader force-chokes Admiral Harkov" execution cutscene has a similar vibe to the scene in Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom movie where the sacrifice victim guy got sacrificed in the Thugee ceremony. In both cases, you have a humiliating death. The only difference is that Admiral Harkov deserved a humiliating death (because of his treason), the sacrifice guy in Indiana Jones was innocent. But you gotta admit, both scenes give off a similar vibe, no?

Making sure characters like thrawn, mara jade, talon karrd, etc made it in to the new trilogy continuum would have been an easy task but they were lazy and didn't want to. Most of the best star wars characters come from the EU. Hell, I would bet about 55 to 75 percent of the post rotj novels could have been saved if Disney hand even been bothered to try.
