Before they explained what it was, I legit thought it might be problematic fanfic about aboriginal people bc that's the only other time I've heard that term (I had an Australian co-worker who introduced everyone in the office to the word with only the context of "curse words/slang from Australia" and then immediately regretted it bc people wouldn't stop saying the word).
