I have listened to so many interviews over 60 + years , by such a panoply of people with interests as broad as the ocean. Lynn’s do Sam are graduates of two of the most prestigious Universities in our country. In addition, they are accomplished world class athletes, confronting the personal and social issues at a point in our history where it would be far easier to keep their opinions to themselves, doing only what they are told to do. Instead, they have chosen to open doors. To their lives, their relationship, their larger relationships, their professional lives and the unique yet diversely American relationships that comprise the World of Professional Athleticism. With humility, gratitude, and love, they open their hearts to each other, to their guests, and to their audience. Not since Groucho Marx and “You bet your life” have I witnessed such raw affection for humanity. This show is amazing. Thank you both. “CHOMP “!

This was a very good podcast episode. Tierna really is a very smart woman and I loved hearing about her experiences.

Thank you so much for this interview and the perspective you all put out there. The honesty and love you three have at human beings is really awesome. Tierna, it's truly embarrassing and sad that you have to deal with this kind of treatment you described. Keep sharing your messages and kicking A$$ on the field.

Great conversation between the Tower of Piwer(S. Mewis), and Lynn William's, one of the best assist queens on the USWNT. Go get that Gold medal ladies. Stay safe.

All three of you were great in the Friendly games. CONGRATS. Ms Rapinoe gave Lynn some great advice. Remember your (4) CUPS. You all are already a living legacy. Enjoy the Olympics.

Poor Lynn. Gotta be rough to be that close to making it onto the team rather than "just an Alternate". Glad that she seems to have the mental strength to deal with it

@@jesseemullen Apparently the IOC will be letting the 4 Alternates be full members of the squad going forward, so Lynn's a full Olympian now

As a queer person in my 30s I was really excited to see this episode, having enjoyed other snacks episodes, but then found it a bit disappointing. In my opinion if you are going to have a person on during PRIDE you should celebrate them, and their identity, and instead this felt like straight people asking a queer person to do the heavy lifting, if that makes sense? Tierna was there to explain, answer awkward questions, and be an advocate, while Sam and Lynn seemed to be confronting some of their own discomfort, or lack of understanding...? These conversations are important to have, but it would be wonderful to model conversations where both the challenges and the gifts of the queer community are recognized, and where the conversation is more balanced amongst those present, so that it feels more like a conversation and less like an interrogation. A great way to do this is for non-queer folks to reference the work they have done to learn, by for example, sharing things they've learned from their LGBTQ+ fam/friends/teammates, or through reading/listening to LGBTQ+ community members. Still, imperfect conversations are WAY better than no conversation, and I hope this will help others, and appreciate that it was done with a spirit of growth and acceptance.

I’m like 3 and half years too late, but I came back to listen to this and something did bother me. I absolutely loved snacks (and I love their new podcast too) and I love Tierna, but I wish they would ask her more questions about herself and her career than trying to just get answers to their own questions on the LGBTQ+ community. She is one of my favorite players and she was amazing at the Olympics and she seems so smart ❤hopefully they’ll bring her back on friendlies and we’ll get to know more about her!! 💕

Great conversation with Tierney 2021 really but sadly being queer still have to be careful when in public feel Sam probably got new perspective on Kristy and things she has had to deal with in relationships if only people could show more compassion and acceptance world would be a little better👍👍🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

I THINK WHAT Tierna Lillis Davidson 57:00 SAID WAS REJOVENESSING. I AS STRAIGHT, I DON'T KNOW ALL THE DIFFICULTIES OF THE REALITY OF EVERY BLACK OR LGTQI PERSON GOING THROUGH THE DAY, I AM TRYING NOT TO BE HORRIBLE WITH EVERYONE I WANT TO BE COOL AND NOT LOOK LIKE A BAD PERSON FOR NOT UNDERSTANDING EVERYTHING IN THIS UNIVERSE. WHEN I WAS YOUNG I BECAME GREAT PLAYERS WITH "KaKá" Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, OR Lionel Andrés Messi BUT NOW I WANT TO SEE Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, Megan Anna Rapinoe, THIS WORLD AND WHY AM I HETRO? NOT. THAT WOMEN'S FOOTBALL IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL, IT IS BRINGING BEYOND BEAUTIFUL FOOTBALL, IMPORTANT CAUSES THAT IN MEN'S FOOTBALL DIDN'T HAVE. TODAY THAT IS HAVING ONE OF THE BIGGEST CHANGES IN ALL SPORTS. I WANT EVERYONE TO UNDERSTAND THAT I'M TALKING ABOUT THOSE WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND LET'S TALK ABOUT IT I WILL DISCUSS IT OPENLY ABOUT THE SUBJECT. I WHO SHOULD PUT ONE PLACE OVER THE OTHER HAVE EMPATHY.

*Tierna has the right height for the defender position; however, she needs a little street smart. She is responsible for two penalty kicks in crucial games. The game against Canada in the Olympics and the one against Washington Spirit for the NWSL champion league. This is becoming customary of her and the USWNT rivals are focusing on this fact.*
