I followed this and my jacket is amazing! Make sure your jacket is 100% cotton. Some jean material has elasticity in it and it doesn’t fray the same.

This is the best classiest DIY jean jacket destressing video on Utube. IMO oversize tears, completely cutting huge shoulder holes, too much bleach, rip, rip & rip with no guidance just made those other stressed jacket videos too gawdy & one step away from trashing it... Thank you & the guy looked very handsome wearing his nicely done jacket...lol

How to distress a denim jacket - buy raw denim and wear the heck out of it
@wilsjane2 жыл бұрын
When we lived on the country. our denim jackets got plenty of distressing by using them to beat grass fires out. It was always funny to see people who did not have raw denims burning the edges of their jackets and the ends of their stretch jeans. Nylon sneakers just melted, so we also wore proper leather boots. 😃🔥

Should work the same. But we suggest you do a small test area... somewhere you wouldn't notice, if things go bad.

Another is ..putting a pack with some weight in it . Tie rope around bottom and to a bike ,car and drag it some or, just swing it around with arms. In soft dirt with some gravel checking it often no matter what you drag it behind. Then shake it out and wash

You can get sandpaper like what they had from a Walmart or a hardware place for like 3 dollars
i tried the first method and i only ripped a big hole into the jacket lol there were no white strips to holt it together and its a 100 % cotton denim

I never understood distressing denim in a way that looks fake. Denim wears naturally around the pockets, cuffs and waistband (belt loops, pockets and knees for jeans) but nobody wears holes in the front or back of their shoulders on a jean jacket. I guess people don't get outside and do hard work anymore to know where clothing naturally gets distressed.
