This was a really great episode. Love the tips from Gina with putting toilet paper in the toilet prior lol. & the when to compromise or take something as a red flag. I like that topic: red flags, boundaries, values, compromising. Because I feel that I've gone through several men (28-38 age range) who keep leaving that feeling of disappointment, I start thinking it's me. Maybe it's something internal that I need to work on. The general feeling for me is that I don't feel like I'm a priority or that I'm just an option. Things like when someone doesn't dress nicely on a first date (not suit and tie, but groomed with decent clothing and maybe cologne), doesn't hold the door; doesn't plan dates**, or asks you to come with them to run an errand (not explicitly but they have something to do and just ask you to tag a long), or even just when you explicitly say that you like phone calls and they never call. Lol I mean I definitely make it clear what I like and don't like, but some just do it once or act like I never say anything. My 2nd thought, though, is that there ARE guys who have met those standards in some ways but maybe they don't want a commitment or I'm not interested in them (whether its physical attraction or just having nothing in common). It's just insane to me how many people you can go through and none of them work out. They say you have to kiss a lot of frogs, but that just seems so generic. I think overall, I do need to work on my self confidence--maybe that would've changed all these scenarios. Maybe I wouldn't have even entertained these men as long as I did. Maybe even if I'm communicating what I like and don't like, I may reek of insecurity, even when I try to hide it. And a lot of the time, I do feel alone. I don't believe I need a relationship to make me feel happy but I do crave that emotional connection. The intimacy and that ride or die. It would help if I had a solid foundation of friends. I have a few good people in my life but my deepest connections have always been my partners. I know im good on my own, but life does feel a little more exuberant when you know someone else is always thinking of you and wanting to be with you.

Talking about the last part, from a guy's point of view, most men are given the idea that being emotional is weak and something to push aside. It's an element that's drilled into you through the experiences at school with friends and the idea of being a strong figure. So we're wired in a way that logic dictates the outcomes and reactions. I've been told on multiple occasions that I'm very guarded and stonefaced when it comes to certain elements within relationships because I'm not 'programmed' to understand the processes of just being emotional without solid evidence to associate it to. Obviously, I'm being broad and not everyone's like this, I love hearing my significant other rant about her issues, and even if I don't understand why or if it doesn't make sense, I just let it happen if she needs to 'go off'. But I hate opening up, it makes me feel uncomfortable, so I can see why sometimes men can be flat in those areas, it's from a, 'I don't understand why you're acting this way, I've bottled my emotions for my entire life and I seem to be doing fine from thinking straight' kind of mentality. It's also probably linked to the lack of physical touch most men get, so that intimacy feels jagged in the air.
