Today I will be making a Fat Quarter Frenzy Quilt!
I grabbed 10 Fat Quarters 10 prints and 10 backgrounds. There is no written instructions for this as it is again one of my Brain Quilts haha
I will describe every cut as I go!
20 fat quarters
Lay them out flat in 2 piles (Either light and dark or prints and filler fabrics. Cut about 2.5" in from the bottom left to the top right at 2.5" in from that top right. It's a long Diagonal cut.
then from the right piece align up the river at 3" inches from that middle cut and make a cut. Then repeat with the left side 3" from your cut center.
Now repeat with Pile 2
Then your gonna swap pieces from pile 1 and 2. So swap the top left large triangle pile and then skip the 3 inch to the right and grab the 3" strip pile from the right and swap that with pile 2. All seen in video.
Then stack 1 sew back together. making sure to hang over about .25 inch at the top. Sew .25 inch down. Repeat till whole stack.
On stack 2 same thing only were gonna swap the location of the pieces in the pile. Take 1 piece from top left and put it on the bottom. then on the next take 3 pieces and place to bottom. Then 1 from the next and 3 from the next. Or whatever I said in the video.
Once mixed up then sew back together like the first stack of 10.
Once all pressed. Take 1 piece from each pile paired up till you have all 20 paired into 10 stacks.
Time for the Frenzy...
Lay the blocks out evenly in sets of 2 and make 2 cuts. Wherever you wanna cut while the FQ blocks are laying in length (selvage to the left or right). Make 1 cut (say 5" over) Then a second cut (say 8.5" from that). That's the Frenzy no rules.
Now take the middle pieces. Rotate 90 degrees and swap the tip to the bottom. And sew the 3 pieces back together. As seen in video.
Next week we will Trim and sew the blocks together to create a Fat Quarter Frenzy Quilt Top that measures a number that I am Invacare of at this time 😄 🤣 😂 😆
Part 2: • Sew Sunday 5/8/22 Fat ...

Hi Tiffany not sewing right now but will be tomorrow. Making lap quilts and bags to carry belongings in for children in cancer centers. So don't really get on much except at night and caught your replays. But you give me some ideas to make some lap quilts.

This is a Fantastic Quilt. I'm a7 year new quilter, my ability to read patterns is (0), so this limits my ability to grow. This is my style, large pieces, few cuts and lots of straight sewing, no tricky things happening. I will be making this quilt, probably a lot. THANK YOU Tiffany's (brain).

I retired recently from an embroidery shop. You want to use cutaway on clothing. If you use tearaway, it will eventually come off in the wash and look distorted. Cutaway holds the shape of the embroidery. Tearaway us used for things like backpacks, bags, caps. Basically things that don't get washed.

Use woven stabilizer for knits and non-woven stabilizers for woven. Put the highest stretchy grain at a 90o to the fabric stretchiest grain. Also use water-solvable stabilizer on top of knits.
