As mother of the bride, I wasn't going to get a day of event coordinator as we are diying the ceremony(starts @5, small wedding party, cocktail hour to follow with appetizers as pictures are being taken) and reception. Groom's mother is a caterer so she has her crew who will take care of the food aspect during the reception(planned to start no later than 6:30). I am delegated to style the venue with decor and since the ceremony will be in the same venue(it holds 300, our guest list is 150-175). I've decided with 2 1/2months to go to get a day of coordinator(I had flashbacks of my oldest reception 6 years ago 😆). This person service will only be needed for 6 hours and I personally know 2 people who do this as a second part-time job. The order of the ceremony and reception is already written out, they just have to help keep it on schedule. After the 6 hours (and before)my sisters(2 of them) and I will take over to start gathering items without looking as if the celebration is ending(I don't drink and it's going to be hard for me not to "serve" as that is my nature). My daughter and future son-in-law knows this and won't mind me mixing and mingling as I make the end of the night clean up/gathering of decor easier while they celebrate the night away😊(11pm). Thanks for all you share and i pray what I've shared helps someone. If you truly can't afford to get a day of coordinator, make sure whomever you get to help doesn't drink or like to party.

Great advice! And you’re right if you can’t get a full day and have people helping 6 hours for a day of can work wonderfully.

@TiffyShow5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I actually had a day of coordinator and they set up all of my decor for me. I highly recommend one and it's more cost effective than a full-on planner. Also my mom and aunt helped set up the dessert table.

@nr7701 Жыл бұрын
The people in the front row are family and close loved ones. She is right that if you're on a budget, providing materials that are just thrown in the air for a few minutes is an item that can be limited to immediate family and the people in the inner part of the aisle (that will actually get close to the couple as they walk). She's not saying to invite everyone but then only provide food to the people in the front row.

Were people weird about your white fiancé jumping the broom?
@eddiexhey10 ай бұрын
yeah that's a big side eye considering the context omg lol
@juliet541310 ай бұрын
@@eddiexhey I’m american born and raised, but ethnically 100% Nigerian , so I would never jump the broom tbh. I don’t have that same history that black Americans have. I certainly wouldn’t have my white fiancé jump the broom either(and my fiancé actually IS white)
@karencooper34288 ай бұрын
Confetti is about people joining in, being happy for you, you can ask people to bring their own, but it's not about you. If you wantess for photos, it's your photographer's job to direct people. Jumping broom is also pagan
