The most emotional moment I have seen whilst watching football has to be Lampard taking a penalty against Liverpool just after his mum died. I remember watching it as a kid thinking how can he concentrate on scoring when his mind must be all over the place. He scored it and let out all his emotion right there on the pitch, like he hadn't allowed himself to grieve until that moment. It was such a powerful moment and is just one example of many on why this sport is the best.

I will never forget that Denmark - Russia game. We knew we had to beat Russia with at least 2 goals while Belgium had to win against Finland. Russia scored at penalty in the 70th minute making it 2 - 1, and that score would not be enough for us to advance. Meanwhile, the Belgium - Finland game was still 0 - 0. The next 10 minutes were the greatest thing I've ever witnessed in football. Christensen's screamer of a goal and Mæhle's near post finish came simultaneously with the two goals for Belgium in the other match, solidifying our place in the knockout stages. Everyone in Denmark cared about football that summer, and the national team's heroic efforts of overcoming the trauma of Eriksen's collapse united the country.

I was still young when Miklós Fehér passed away playing for Benfica, but still get emotional every time there's talks about it. The other things were Portugal winninif finally a international tournament after so many ''almost there''. The other was the passing of Eusebio, even the ultras from Porto and Sporting ( out two biggest rivals) come and did their honors. The following game was against Porto at our home. I cant describe how that game felt, was something else, the atmosphere was not something I felt during a game. We ended winning that game. When Portugal won the Euros there was a photo of Eusebio with the team during the all tournmenment and come with them on the airplane.

As a Colombian, I will never forget that terrible day of the chapecoense plane crash. I wanted nacional to win it even if it isn't my team, but woke up to that terrible news. I will also never forget the beautiful tribute nacional and the city of Medellin gave, in their now stadium, to a mourning nation of Brazil and chapecoense, forever linking these two teams. And regardless of how many times I've seen it, the video of the whole chapecoense team celebrating in their locker room after qualifying to the final will always bring tears to my eyes. 💚

We all have to remember. Regardless of team, rivalry, the colour you support, what country you are from, what cultural background you may have. We're all people living normal lives, and football is just a part of our lives. Respect, and humanity transcends through all these football moments and more. You can be frustrated, and not like someone or some people, but remember to treat everyone as if they were yourselves, or your loved ones. ❤

In January 2004 (incidentally the year Portugal was hosting the Euros), a Benfica player called Miklos Fehér collapsed in the middle of the field in a League match against Vitória de Guimarães, and died of cardiac arrest. It sparked a conversation about the medical conditions of the players playing at that level, focusing on resources during matches and more extensive diagnostics every season. There is a bust of him at Estádio da Luz, where the Hungary national team and Puskas FC have paid respects when playing there. I think that to this day, when Benfica plays in Guimarães against Vitória in a League match, they always have a moment to remember him.

As a Finn that Denmark - Finland game was certainly the weidest game emotionally that I have watched. Before the game I was so excited to see Finland for the first time in a major tournament and against Denmark: a great team but still a good possibility for a shock result for Finland. Then Eriksen collapsed and I and all of my family thought that we might just have seen a person dying. I was destroyed. Well Finland won the game in the end but still I really can't enjoy it that much as I normally could. It should have been the biggest game and biggest win of our nation ever, but still even today when everything has turned alright, I feel like that we didn't really deserve the win.

Manchester United had a good chance of winning the UCL before the Munich air disaster. They had very talented players and were aiming for winning the league for the third successive season only being 6 point behind wolves who were on top of the table with 14 matches to go. The tragedy destroyed all the hopes of Man Utd and England National Team. But 10 year later Matt Busby rebuilt the team and won the UCL, making Manchester United the first ever English team to win the Champions League.

@louis A magnitude of things going right for a team does not make it a fluke. Imagine thinking you can tear someone apart on a topic that has no right answer. the simple fact of the matter is that a team that narrowly avoided relegation the year before, played the best football and won arguably the toughest league in the world. There would have to be a ridiculous amount of luck to prevent that from being anything other than one of the best achievements any sports team has ever done. And there wasn't that much luck

@@rorybessell8280 You still have to go and take advantage of those opportunities. There's no arguement to be had. Anyone who boo hoos Leicester's win just has a chip on their shoulder. Liverpool looked like they were about to win the league in 2015, but they did the opposite of Leicester, they turned it all to s**t! Once Leicester got in sights of the title, they knew they would win it. That's not luck, that's will and it's the very thing Liverpool lacked in 2015.

I'll never forget Eriksen's collapse. My head in my hands in shock. My dad screaming "Oh my God he isn't breathing" repeatedly and my mom going mental too despite hating football. I had to get out of there and go for a walk just to breathe and how empty and silent the city was. How speechless the commentators were. How speechless I was. Oh how I loathed UEFA for forcing the game to go on. It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Just to add one of my own. In 1993 en route to a world cup qualifier, a plane carrying thw near entirety of the Zambian national team crashed in the Atlantic ocean killing everyone on board. Its was a promising and well celebrated team, even more was it's star Kalusha Bwalya( who survived because he was not on the flight thay day), currently living abroad in Morocco most older people still recall the team and bring it up whenever I mention my nationality; Zambian football never really recovered. However in 2012, at the Africa Cup of Nations held in Gabon( the last nation the team was in before the crash), and as severe underdogs the Zambian national team somehow won the whole thing; it was very touching moment for a whole nation.
