Tebas himself is a big reason why the Spanish giants are still so strongly in favour of the Super League. His suddenly changing rules are hurting all the La Liga clubs financially. Here's a hilarious fact: In January f'ing BOURNEMOUTH was allowed to spend more money than the...here's the hilarious part... ENTIRETY OF LA LIGA. Football as a whole can't prosper like this.
@mhtv5959 Жыл бұрын
Not only that. Betis, Sevilla, Valencia are struggling to sign players or register them. LaLiga has highest number of cases of late registration, inflated Salary wage bill because of the laws in Spain. Tebas in October-November specifically changed laws to prevent Gavi's registration. He also did the same in around 2004 when Barcelona tried to promote Messi to the first team. Of all the clubs, he hates Barcelona and in an attempt to trouble them, he ultimately ruining the league.
@curtischarles5299 Жыл бұрын
Tebas is a fool. He is the reason for the decline in teams . His so called financial fairplay has crippled la liga teams and now weaken them. Sevilla had to sell their stars . A team who was just in the champions league is now in relegation zone .simply because the salary cap is to low and they cant keep their stars. It's the same for barcelona he wants us to sell our high earning players to stay with the salary cap. What is that doing for la liga teams? Making them sell their star players and cannot bring in any because they won't want to accept small salaries . So there is no balance. So now small epl teams will be able to give better salaries to these players .

Although it's a much lower level of football the same could be said about Celtic and Rangers. The passion behind El Clásico/Old Firm is ferocious. Catalan against Castilian, Gael against Briton. There are many more footballing rivalries but none stand out so viscerally tribal in nature. The spectacle is tense even for a neutral observer and yet, beyond money, neither could exist without the other.

It was a harmless way to rebel against supposed oppression. It wasn't so much the Catalans themselves but the non-conformists in the rest of Spain who created this rivalry. 2nd biggest city of Spain, in a traditionally hostile to the government region in an apparently dictatorial country. Althletico Madrid (3), Valencia (2) and Deportivo La Caruna (1) have won the league. *Note arbitray year selected to start from, as in the early 80s Scotland had Dundee United and Aberdeen win league titles and Spain had Althletico Bilbao win league titles. But I think that 37 consecutive seasons is a long time to dominate a competition between two clubs and it will be 38 this season as Celtic and Rangers are comfortably ahead of the next place team.

As a Madrid fan I find it quite funny that in Perez's attempt to keep all the power and riches to Madrid and Barcelona he's hurt La Liga and this Madrid in the crossfire, the league had a golden opportunity to capitalise and become a massive global brand like the premier league when Messi and Ronaldo were both playing for Madrid and Barcelona and was most likely the most "famous" time in la liga's recent history but instead of distributing wealth and strengthening the overall league making a more competitive environment like the PL he tried to hold onto it all himself which as we now see resulted in La Liga's dry period with majority of the worlds attention turning to the English league which in itself IS is a super league. Pere'z attempts to create a super league to generate more money could have been succeeded "although most likely with not as much as an actual super league would generate" if he just allowed the league and competition to grow but instead he forcefully held it back and thus Madrid along with it.

@@rudymurillo9334 Please elaborate on how Barcelona and Real Madrid are sinking la Liga while being the two most important teams that apport the most revenue to the league with their TV rights. Moreover, it is obvious that the prem gains more revenue with their TV rights because more people watch the PL due to it's major intensity and game dynamics in contrast to the tactical, well defended and slower games of La Liga which may be more unappealing to the regular sports fan, thus not attracting as much viewers which results in less money from TV rights. With this argument you could then argue that it is fair for the prem to have this much money in comparison to the spanish league, but the spanish league has a much bigger problem with its President who doesn't know how to handle the league he presides.

Tebas is forcing Superleague to happen. & Barca & Real has enmity in field but outside that overall both clubs have been friendly to each other. Sports cant sustain & grow with monopoly. You need exciting matches, rivals to make more money. Both barca & Madrid is trying to replace Tebas in upcoming Laliga election probably cuz Tebas is Putting sanctions on laliga teams every week ( specially barca). PL is certainty the biggest League in World but Mardrid & Barca is the top most elite clubs & biggest in World ( united if you count top 3) -. Don't argue stupidly here. Its according to Forbes. Outside UK everywhere you go, even go time China & Russia people will say Barcelona / Real Madrid? This also says that These two teams have also discriminated against other teams in laliga. As a result Its not competitive as PL. So obviously they need Superleague to compete & maintain growth. No one is villains here. UK people is protesting cuz they dont want to lose dominance. But everything changes. US is also.not going to be no.1 for long. & i think Super League is inevitable. The simple difference is that PL teams accept to be owned by Saudi / Qatari Owners & make millions, buy all players but Public clubs like Barca / Madrid need Superleague cuz they are not sold to Oil billionaires.

First of all I agree with u almost in everything except when u said u epl is afraid to loose the dominance when they never dominated Europe. What they r afraid of is their competitive ability to come close to clubs like juve,napoli, Real Madrid, Barca,Ajax bc all they have now is the dominance of spending money.which by the way they don’t make. Am also glad that we will never sell our club for anything.

Barca and Real do not care for La Liga. I find it completely stupid how la liga stans can't comprehend that fact. The Super League isn't the EPL. The English league became famous because they went out and globalized their league while La Liga, Serie A and the like never took the effort to. And it is obvious that language plays a part. English is much more popular than Spanish the world over, so guess which league tends to benefit? Funny how all Barca Madrid supporters can't see the blatantly hypocritical behavior of their own clubs but will run pillar to post blaming the EPL. Mirror mirror on the f***ing wall.

@bez1196 Жыл бұрын
TV revenue is one thing, oligarchs and Petro dollars are another. No amount of redistribution of tv revenue can make up for that. Also, LA Liga (the organization) has done a terrible job promoting the brand to the rest of the world. They had Messi and Ronaldo in their prime and still couldn't promote the product effectively. PL is light years ahead of La Liga as a brand. Real and Barca have valid reasons to not trust La Liga. They are the ones who promote their own brands while La Liga does nothing so as a result, Ppl tune in to watch Real and Barca not any other team thanks to poor promotion by La Liga.

@@outlawfly664 that's only because wealth is concentrated with basically two teams in la Liga. I'm not saying real and barca are bad teams, I'm saying they are hurting their own league. Teams like Brighton and Brentford are more interesting to watch than most la Liga teams
@outlawfly664 Жыл бұрын
@@Mikel57129 What you don't understand like most EPL fans is very fact that wealth is concentrated to Madrid and Barca because La liga leadership does a very poor job in promoting their league. They don't have the same leverage as EPL with lucrative TV deals extending over 10 billion with Sky which even is an English media outlet or any middlemen for that matter given the fact that EPL is already it's own super league, never mid the fact that major clubs in Spain are members owned which doesn't attract corrupt billionaires. If that was the case, both Madrid and Barca wouldn't have a hard time to distribute their wealth equally, but at this point it's relatively unfair to both of these clubs given the fact that they are the clubs who overwhelmingly brings the most audiences to the table, in fact both Real Madrid and Barca has the largest fanbase in the world, go figure.
