I totally agree. If you watch her Netflix documentary that was filmed when she was going through a whole other set of heath issues and losses in her life she talks about how comedy was something she had to utilize to make it through. She really is an immensely strong person who can miraculously find some pretty funny moments amongst some pretty dark stuff. Love her and her comedy!

Agreed. It's how her standup goes as well. Invoking the laughter is deliberate, which she can further employ to garner more laughs when she makes the audience realize she just made them laugh at horrible news. I would imagine it's very cathartic, and probably the best way to handle going through what's she's gone through and retain a healthy state of mind.

Tig knows the way she delivers her stories will make people laugh. The back in forth between terrible news, laughing, and deadpan looks is literally her signature move. She did an entire stand up set about her breast cancer-she’s trying to make us laugh-she’s very open about how comedy has helped her through her health complications and cancer. Even the awkward pauses are incredibly intentional.

When I woke up from surgery I was looking at my IV machine and hallucinated that it was a slot machine. I was like, "Damn, this thing just isn't paying out!" Then I realized I was hallucinating and started laughing at myself. The attendant nurse was, of course, somewhat concerned.
