It was Shakespearean in it’s inception and execution. The characters are not necessarily meant to convey an example of how to behave generally, it’s much similar to Greek comedy tragedies, “cautionary tales” category of drama. That said, if you’re looking at tv shows to give you life advice, I a humble internet stranger, would advise against that, as a general rule.
