Ron, I've enjoyed your work.for years. Nice to see you colab with my favorite Tig master!

Your simplicity and processes are the pinnacle of underthinking in order to over produce. Every last thing you do seems to be so simple; but such a “lightbulb” moment at the same time. You’re 4 into 1 collector video is some of the most genius craftsmanship I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. Your weld skill is undeniable… But for me, it’s your problem solving and thought process that makes your work a cut above the rest.

It all makes sense now, I've been using the wrong grease! No wonder my elbow hurt so bad some days.
@danl.47433 жыл бұрын
If you wonder why he left the fins holes open like that, it is to work as whistles. You know, for when they drop the bomb from the helicopter, so that it will make the whistle sound like bombs suppose to make. I think. lol

At last, something us lesser mortals could replicate - no need for perfect weld bead ripples if they're going to get ground off! :)

Grinding the weld was painfull to watch

Just wanted to say that, shame to grind such nice welds, but in need of a polished finish it was needed
@mikeznel60483 жыл бұрын
I was just about to say that but the pretty little beads just don't fit in with the project.

One must appreciate the HUGE effort for the joke with the elbow grease sketch. I don't even want to think about cleaning the skin afterwards.
@donaldwrissler90593 жыл бұрын
Always fascinating technique to watch. I'm just surprised you elected to leave the dimples open and not enclosed with sheet, tube or weld. It'll be interesting no matter what since I've been watching Ron's Vids from the beginning

Aaron, you never disappoint! Absolutely beautiful. Give corn starch a try for the smut on polished aluminum. It's a game changer. Please keep the awesome videos coming.

I really enjoy the detail and craftsmanship in your video's.👍 Question. How do you keep your pads from loading up too quickly from the aluminum?
@stevowhitty39843 жыл бұрын
Wax or soap will help not clog the flap disc. But I would only use it after welding. If not you will have to clean the weld joint pretty good to get rid of any wax before welding.

As a 27 yr old General manager of our underwater aerospace program here at NASA with 60+ years of work experience, I have to say that grease you used was not OSHA approved nor was it the appropriate type. Udder butter 5150loljk-xyz was what this application required. Aside from that, your welding/ fabrication skills are OK for a beginner. Keep at it and you'll be building in no time. Now if you'll excuse me I need to apply more camouflage grease paint to my nose, I've got a ton more typing comments on other videos to do... Great ending! (My comment not your video)

It's a shame you ground off the weld beads as I'm a fan of showing off that aspect of the welder's expertise. However, after watching the Covell series, I understand why and the smoothed and polished fins complement the entire project.
