Looking forward to seeing your MIG and stick videos on this machine. I own one and it has performed flawlessly in both MIG and stick (haven't done TIG yet). I punished mine on a heavy duty MIG project running at near full capacity for hours on end and never once hit the duty cycle. The recommended MIG settings seem to be a little cold. I usually just put it in manual CV mode and dial in my own settings. Smoothest stick arc around.

I love my 210mp, after getting everything sorted out on it it works great.. . Only real gripe is how loud the fan is, but I have never overheated it even after burning a 5 pound box of 7014 without stopping... I have recently started playing with the tig feature aswell but without the foot pedal and have made some pretty nice welds but it seems like the pedal is the way to go...

I am still using the Lincoln Electric Power MIG 210 MP. I love it. The thing is solid I've done some really big jobs with it and never had any problems. It has capabilities of a much more expensive machine and if you take care of it this thing will do pretty much anything you needed to do. Aluminum stainless steel and anything in between

I just set up my machine for TIG welding with the foot pedal yesterday. It wasn't that difficult and it went together pretty easily with a pair of long needle nose and a flat head screwdriver. So far I really love this machine. I've done some stick welding with it and I'm getting ready to do my first TIG weld with it this morning

Hi Jody, Another well put together video. Up until a few months ago I had zero knowledge about welding. After pricing out the costs involved in having a new frame manufactured for one of my little vintage Boler trailers I decided to purchase a welder and learn how to do it myself. In addition I signed up at the local Technical School here in Calgary, AB, Canada to take an introductory GMAW course. I find the combination of being able to view your closeup videos and the hands-on experience with the instructors to be a good learning method for me. Now, I am not sure if I'm actually going to save money on my frame build because I'm hooked and am starting to collect all the "toys" to go with my new Lincoln 210MP.. Looks like I need to get set up for TIG... thanks:) I've already been over to SWAG's website. Again, your videos are well put together. I've posted a few of my own and know that more time goes into producing the video than the actual job you are filming. So, your efforts are much appreciated. Looking forward to your videos of the Lincoln 210 MP for MIG. Thanks again Kevin Johnston Calgary, AB Canada

bought one after seeing this video. Finally got together enough of the parts to scratch start. 3 days in doing drills on cold rolled I realized that the black numbers on the regulator that is provided with the machine are in L/min. 40scfm does just fine on mig, but really sucks to learn tig welding. Set the regulator down to 15scfm and things are going much much better.

However, after seeing this thing, I'm wondering if I should sell my tombstone welder and just buy one of these. Then I can do Tig and Flux core also if I ever want to. Why would someone buy machines separately when one of these exists? For longer duty times or something? Thanks!

I can't entirely answer your question, but there are very few stick/mig machines due to the fact one is constant voltage and the other is constant current. It does seem like a good option.

Jody what are thoughts on using a 120v to 240v step up transformer to use this machine in the 240v setting, but just plugging into a 120v outlet?
@paulkurilecz4209
@paulkurilecz4209 Ай бұрын
Ummm, it is a matter of the ampacity of the circuit feeding your transformer. A 30A 240V circuit provides as much power as a 60A 120V circuit. A step up transformer of that size will be quite expensive. It will likely be significantly less expensive to wire in the 240V circuit for this machine.

Just curious as to which machine you think is the best all round machine, easiest to use, longest lasting as far as heavy and light use. Now I am not the Tig welder in my house hold and am looking at getting my wife a new machine ( and yes she is the welder in my house hold red seal and all lol) but I want to purchase on that she would be happy with and versitile I do believe in having separate machines for stick mig and tig although my lincoln 305g is set up for all but the suitcases are not so handy. Thank you for all that you show in your videos they are great for me because I may try my hand at tig with out her kicking me off her stool LMAO!

Chris Morrow Man its hard to say what the best all around machine is. I dont think there is one! I have never really liked the idea of one all in one machine. Seems there are always trade offs. But if you think of this as a mig welder ..that also does stick and tig. its a great starter unit because its only about 100 more dollars than a 210mvp hobart handler mig only. If your wife really likes high freq start tig, then lift arc might not be the best for her. We all get spoiled. like me and my torch cups. haha

Jody, I know you were using a 3/32" Tungsten, but I didn't catch what type you used for the Power Mig 210. Being it only does AC welding, was there a particular Tungsten used that doesn't ball at the end? I'm finding that Brown and White (Zirconiated) Tungsten is for AC only. But not sure if that is a myth. I seen your videos on using different types of Tungsten at 200 Amps, but wasn't sure if they applied to this particular situation. Also, what kind of filler rod did you use? Thanks for the time (if you see this)

I have the Tig 200 and this machine, the TIG 200 is a better tig welder, no need to scratch/lift start and it also will do AC for Aluminium.

I have this machine, and a spool gun for aluminum MIG welding. I used the spool gun to build a 200 gal holding tank, which is really just a 3x4x1 1/2 foot box out of 1/8" 5086 aluminum sheet. The only issue was the short duty cycle of the spool gun. It doesn't have AC capability, but some guys I work with told me you can TIG weld aluminum with DC if you use helium instead of argon. The machine can be bought on its own, capable of stick or mig out of the box, or as the "Aluminum one pack", which comes with the spool gun. I bought the base machine, and bought the spool gun later. It can also be bought as the "TIG one pack" where you get the machine with the torch, foot pedal, and adapters.

Mig and stick are next so I will hold my judgement till then. I am not expecting any real issues since I know people who own one

I would like to get my hands on the engineer of this machine who obviously never mig welded before. The darn thing blows air out the front; it blows right where I am trying to weld on a welding table or other working area. They should have had it blowing out the back so it would not interfere with welding gas. I had to fabricate a shield to direct the air sideways. Otherwise it is a great machine.

The reason I was watching this video was to see if the 210MP had a TIG solenoid, as that was one of the only things I didn't like about the Harbor Freight Omnipro 220. Turns out it doesn't either. But, what's even more disappointing is this machine doesn't even have a TIG pedal adapter! So, not only is this machine 50% more expensive, it becomes TWICE the price of a HF unit after the purchase of a pedal and adapter. That's crazy. I didn't want to buy a HF machine, but geez Lincoln, give me a reason to buy your machine, please!

why were you using 309 for stainless to stainless? shouldn't it be 308 or whatever the grade of stainless your welding on 309 is for stainless to carbon
