1st time I tried was in the late 70s. I had an extreme headache and a workmate gave me a forehead massage with tiger balm. Best thing in the world.

helped my nerve pain actually. had neck injury , no meds worked. only this did. my pain was to a level that i was not able to function at all, steroid shots or whatever barely worked . this made the pain go away instantly, i was blown away.

I do use tiger balm for muscle and nerve pain. It does not irritate my skin and it releaves my pain. As an experience massage therapist I specialize in deep tissue massage. I like the aroma of the tiger balm. It works for me.

This helped me so much today I work 3 in a row 12 shifts this week as a cna at a hospital, this really helped me after. My neck to my shoulder blade was hurting bad. I was worried after trying to massage it with a massage gun, and it not helping. I put the tiger balm on and woke up pain free!

Tiger Balm is good stuff! I’m in my 60’s and my Chinese born parents used Tiger Balm for musculoskeletal pains and would apply it to the skin under the nostrils to get some relief from sinus congestion. HaHa! My parents used it on us kids in elementary school. Yes, the only thing I remember having problems with was burning of the skin if too much Tiger Balm was applied. And wash your hands after applying Tiger Balm because it has a nasty taste.

I think it actually relaxes muscles like after a cramp my leg muscles were stiff for days after using tiger balm the next day muscle was less stiff and less pain.

Clove oil also is a pain reliever. When I would get tooth pain, for temporary relief I would chew a clove and move it to that area.

My tailbone was so sore I could not enjoy any part of the day. I applied some tiger balm on my tailbone and within 2 hours I was able to sit stand up it was wonderful such relief

The liquid Tiger Balm liniment is wonderful for pain relief. It has more clove oil and is easy to use. Doesn’t stain as its clear.

in Chinese medicine, the branch and bark of camphor tree, and the clove, can warm up your body and improve the blood flow, therefore can relieve the pain because in Chinese medicine, pain is usually caused by coldness and stagnation

I had a jar from 2008. I forgot about my half used jar. I pulled something in front of my hip and another student said Biofreeze or Tiger Balm. So I found my jar and applied some 30 minutes ago. Texture was what I remembered. The area is less reactive, so that's promising. I have some back soreness on the other side of my back, I think my body was probably compensating and that's how that happened. I'm about to try Tiger Balm there. I don't remember it helping me all that much when I originally used it way back when, so this is the test that will convince me whether I should bother with it or not.

My Korean karate teacher was so concerned about my hyperextend knee that he offered to sell me some tiger balm he had behind his glass case for sale @ $12 . I started using it when I was an actual full contact kung fu fighter. This and a stuff called 'Deet Jiao' were the standard stuff for those of us who were constantly injured due to daily hard training and fighting. The stain is similar to iodine. Currently I use the white tiger balm, which doesn't stain at all. Personal comparison, it's like dipping your aching muscles into a cool bath. But it also feels kind of hot. I guess the most extreme comparison would be exposing yourself to extreme cold, like frost burn.

Yes ! I found tiger balm after overspending on biofreeze. Biofreeze is water thin. Only last 20 min after application with 5 % menthol .Tiger balm is 11% menthol! Double!!!
