Nice video and very soothing music. I have a rather large Tiger Bark Ficus and I tend to prune it in Spring, reducing the branches to half an inch. The new growth and back budding is incredible. The branches and the foliage on the big tree is much tighter. I have recently uploaded three videos on my channel dealing with what the donor of this tree went through, he just didn't know the issues with this tree when he bought it. It was doomed, the first thing that these imports need is repotting in decent bonsai soil mix and get them out of those ugly blue pots they are imported in. By the say the growth at the back is lacking and I learnt this a long time ago to regularly turn the tree so all sides get sunlight and the growth is even. I am sure you know that with hindsight. The tree is in good hands now and will flourish will look out for updates. Cheers

Thanks for the positive comment. One thing I learned over the years with bonsai is patience and thinking before you do anything are the first lessons. Another one is patience. The lack of growth indeed is my fault because I was so busy with so many trees, orchids and bird breeding season among other things I forgot to turn the tree on a regular basis. Trees were so cramped together this summer because we had a very extremely hot summer. I have a vid coming up on my 50+ F. microcarpa nitida. It's over 70 cm high and had been neglected due to health reasons. It too went trough a complete makeover. Imported 'trees' should always be cared for wel after purchase but when people buy one to be "Zen' then these gems are doomed to die. This bonsai too has miniature orchids growing on it. Updates will certainly come.

I understand as I am in the same boat as far as trees go, have too many. I also have many neglected rescued trees which were wedged up against walls for many years by the relatives due to the owners ill health. Virtually zero growth at the back. I have been sorting these out for the last five years, these are big trees and big branches, so a very slow process.Love your Orchid touch, never seen that before. Just discovered that although I was subscribed to your channel, had not rung the bell so no notifications. Have now fixed that by hitting the bell and ticking the box and saved ! as would like to see your updates.
