This is not the tigercrane of Hung Gar Kuen, Heres why. Fu Hok Seung Ying Kuen (Tiger and Crane) Fu Hok Seung Ying Kuen was created by Hung Hsi Kwan, having combined the Shaolin Tiger Techniques with the Crane Techniques of his wife. Wong Fei Hung is said to have Re-choreographed the Tiger and Crane form by adding the kiu sao (bridge hand) techniques learned from Tit Kiu Sarm. The form is practice in the Lam Family Hung Gar as an intermediate form and is one of the four pillar forms of Hung Gar. The key concepts which are practiced in the form includes: 1. Kiu Sao/Chuen section; Single/Double kiu sao while executing the sei ping ma (horse riding stance) and Ji ng ma (front stance) consecutively; (no tigercrane hand) 2.Chuen Kiu-this technique allows the practitioner to block continuous straight attacks by use of the Kiu Sao (bridge hand); a. Straight punching and kicking; b. Tung Tin Choi-Uppercut: This Technique may be applied to the head or body of the opponent. He didn't mention these techniques, because he doesn't know the Hung style Tiger and Crane Techniques.

I was told this was Tiger Crane not Hung Gar! I was taught by many teachers and they all claimed lineage from the Southern Shaolin Temple in Fu Jian which is where Hung Gars roots also are. I don't much care about the lineage but, what I do love is how cool the form is, how the fighting applications are very effective, and how practicing the form conditions my body and mind! Enjoy the videos for what they are. This one is Tiger Crane Kung Fu! More to come!

I love this form! I can see the internal element of it. Its seems to be a real good tool to work on basic strikes and blocks as well as stance. Based on what I've seen I would compare it to Sanchin (as done in Goju ryu and Uechi Ryu) and the first form you learn in Wing Chun. Good stuff.

I read that you was going to do another 20 minute video. I would like to see a feature on Mantis kung fu that shows the block, traps, locks, and strikes of Mantis. You haven't really gone in depth yet in Mantis. Maybe a 20 minute video of Hsing Yi applications. And finally, I would just like to see shown how all the forms and techniques tie in together to complement one another. Good stuff. Keep posting.

This is Tiger Crane Style WUSHU. Jake is very athletic. Jake has some very good dietary tips. Jake is good at what he does, and what he is doing here is Tiger Crane WUSHU, which was quite clearly BASED on Fu Hok. I say this with full respect to all, as a Hung Ga practitioner myself. Have a nice day! :)

Good answer I respect what u said all arts canb good bt my issue is 2dress 1thing up as another mix&match or 2just copy another style superficially & essentially water it down in the process. CMA r not shallow bt hav depth 2just copy forms from other styles causes its decline. I believe lineage/tradition should help not bind us bt past masters left wisdom we shouldn't easily discard it 4our own beliefs. If u chose 2discard it dont falsely label it TCMA as people shouldnt b mislead Wude is 1st

I'm very interested but this is a kata that does not incorporate a sensitivity that im familiar with in crane style... it demonstrates tiger kung fu but not crane...i understand your "perepherial wings" of movement but crane is light and sharp...forgive me but your kata seems too heavy to incorporate the two styles as such....

Thks 4replying bt Matt Small doesnt show any lineage bout his teachers. Im asking what family/lineage this tiger crane descends. Lineage is only for id the source nothing else. Southern kf operates in a family structure hence the different titles like sihing sifu sigong they id your place in the family. Chinese show respect to the past teachers by keeping a recorded line whether orally or written. If it is created/mod in America that is fine but then it is not related to Hung Ga so don't mislead

Btw, practicing Kung Fu (no matter what style) is about building longevity, health, confidence, a positive connection with people, a deep connection with the Earth and Universe, and developing self defense skills to protect that life and connection! It's definitely not about whether the 'bow' is right or not! The 'bow' etc. are the least of my worries. I want fitness, youthfulness, confidence, self respect, and fighting skills! I'm off the train right now!!!

Dude, I'm done talking with you because I'm busy training! This Kung Fu was told to me that it was taken from Fu Jian, and the Grandmaster of the Shaolin temple took it to Indonesia in the early 20th century (in exile). Then taught to someone else in the 1960's and brought to America in the 60's! My body mechanics are my own! Enjoy!

This is definitely not a Tiger Crane kung fu. Your had take the form" Fu Hok Seung Yink Kuen" and modified the moves. Your movements are to straight and stiff no fluidity. Stances are very weak and not grinded at all. Body and arms have no power. All the moves are not related for and to the proper concept of the Fo Hok. There is no way you can apply those movements without loosing balance or getting hurt. Where are the sounds related to the Tiger and Crane? This is nonsense

I mentioned HG as u refered to it in the description & the sequence has been copied bt modified from the HG TigerC form? The body mechanics suggust it is not descended from the fujian kungfu it is a poor copy. As the existence of the Fujian Temple is impossible to prove, I was refering to a real lineage lam family lau family etc. Lineage is not important unless u claim to teach a Chinese art descended from China & sell that idea to others. If it is made in USA what u r doing is misleading others

"If you tell a lie loud enough and long enough, the people will believe it."-Adolf Hitler. Satan (may Allah's curse him) fails in his promise. "And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah who gave you a promise of truth: I too Promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had No authority over you except to call you, but ye Listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrongdoers there must be a Grievous Penalty." After the Judgement, evil declares itself in its true colors, frankly it says: "I deceived you.The promise of Allah was true, but you believed me rather than Allah. I had no power to force you. I had but to call you, and you came running after me. You must blame yourselves. Did you think I was equal with Allah? I know too well that I was not and never could be. If you did wrong, you must suffer the Penalty."
