This guy is absolutely amazing. I don’t understand how he’s able to get the detail he does without the wood breaking. On both the male and female. I do inlays often and I have not been able to decode this witchcraft. I’ve tried edge and endgrain. He’s a true master

Nik, I absolutely think your work is amazing. You are by far, above and beyond, the best inlay artist I have seen. I am so impressed with your talent and amazing boards you produce. It appears you use an Axiom AR8 V5 CNC, i hope that's correct. If so, your waste board you made for your table top, do you by chance have the file for that? If so, would you be willing to share it or sell it? I think it is the best waste board I've seen. I am new to CNC machining and just recently purchased an Axiom AR8 V5 24x48 and would love to have something like that for my machine.

Occasionally, some pieces of your end grain block meet as perfect matchbook effect. Have you ever thought of deliberately aligning blocks to make paired or 2x2 matchbook, I think it will give a fabulous background effect to the foreground inlay image! Another thought, CNC trimming the inlay flush will leave a tell tale mark in the lighter inlay. Sometimes a circular trim cut would leave a complimentary tell tale pattern.

The craft of woodworking looses a great deal when all he does is speed flu, change router and drill bits, and blow sawdust so his camera can provide a better vid clip. The expensive toy he’s using is the master craftsman.
