well. For once I can agree with you. Palm strikes are the shit. a left palm hook can be devastating, or a jab or cross straight to the face. That claw thing is total bullshit, but palm strikes are extremely effective. I never though I'd actually agree with Jake on something...
@giovanni92988 жыл бұрын
the claw is to maximize the damage, he didn't say but to use the claw you strike with the palm (the most important part of the tiger claw) and pull down with the claw, hitting the eyes or just scratching the opponent for example.
@bobshanty4558 жыл бұрын
Except his hook is completely off form, he drops his hand and loads up, this would never work on anyone with an inkling of boxing knowledge
@turmat018 жыл бұрын
lol yeah his hook is absolutely horrible. it wouldn't work against anybody lol. You can see this shit coming soooo easily. I'm just saying a palm strike hook is a wonderful weapon. His is pure crap, but let's face it... we're talking about a dude who thinks tai chi is effective here. XD

@giovanni92988 жыл бұрын
tiger claw hurts a lot and can dislocate the jaw and broke the nose very easy so you never will see this style in a competitive fight, anyway was not made for competitive purpose, but for martial purpose
@giovanni92988 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Torres well not just rules (despite the fact that you can use palm by the rules but not the claw) but have the protection equipment that would disturb the palm strike, and as i see you never practice a martial art that use palm, for example i practice hung gar and in hung gar I use both claw and punch and for me that already trained both, claw is more efective than punch when I'm fighting without protection, you are thinking just in competitive way, but in a fight without rules and protection would be more advantageous a claw or palm strike than punch with the weak human fist that can break easily, this is a problem of the people who pratice martial sports, ever thinking just inside the ring, octagon or tatami and protected from head to toe, a advice to you think in a fight in other situation like in a street where you don't have any protection.
@giovanni92988 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Torres is useless try to talk with you, you are lyng, right now you were talking about competitive fight and now you are talking about street fight and pretend that you fight a lot on the street, just a information to you all the human being are diferent so exist a fighting style that work better for each person, for you can be the mma, but for me is hung gar, and just a extra information the muay thai and jiujitsu was created based on kung fu, muay thai is a descendent of a martial art called muay boran that was made based on some southern kung fu styles this martial art could easily kill a person so to use it in a competitive way as a sport they removed all the deadly strikes, the rest was the muy thai, jiujitsu was based on judo that was based on suai jiao and quin na, is the same thing, jiujitsu was made to a competitive way, the people start to mix competitive way like championship in a controlled ambient to martial way, they are very diferent (remember in what circunstances the kung fu was created and in what circunstances sports like muay thai was created and you will understand what I'm try to tell you).
@giovanni92988 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Torres another "competition", you don't undertand what I tried to tell you, I give up ¬¬

Do you guys even fight? A fist can harm as much as a palm strike they both about ocupy The same space so The presure per square inche is equal. The only advantage is that a palm punch travel faster and The risk to harm yourself is less. Why dont you guys just play barbies

I really like the philosophy on using your palm so that you don't injure your fist, but it seems like the tiger claw risks breaking your fingers. Also, what is the difference between tiger claw and bear paw hand shapes?

(Just blowing my own trumpet - I'm usually modest) I'm not an amazing martial artist, but, what I am is very quick - I can punch out and retract faster than the eye can pick up the movement LOL so it looks like I haven't even moved (no telegraphing or giving away any tells) and I give more than just a tap. I don't do it too often as it kills my arm. What special skills does anyone else have?

I love the videos. Subscribed a long time ago. You are one of the martial artists that inspired me to begin training again. I studied as a kid until about 13. Football took over. And girls. I'm now 37 and have been training again for nearly two years. I regularly watch you to learn many techniques. I would be honored if you could look at the videos I've loaded ( few so far, 2 kicking, one shuriken) and review what you see. They are very short so it wouldn't take much time. Again thanks for the videos and the inspiration. You're awesome.

@giovanni92988 жыл бұрын
***** yes, but wing chun remove what is unnecessary second to the wing chun philosophy of combat that is fight in a short range and using its superior technique in this range to defeat the opponent, but it has a problem that is a wing chun fighter must force a short range fight and if a practitioner of choy lai fut or hung gar notice that his opponent is using wing chun (that is easy because of the stance) he can keep the fight in a mid to long range, in this case the wing chun fighter would be in serious disadvantage, remember that don't exist a superior fight style, but exist the right fight style for each person, how much you train and how you use your fight style in a combat.
@giovanni92988 жыл бұрын
***** sorry I'm not tell that wing chun don't have a long range but face it, the wing chun shine in the short range, it can have the long range but even the form that the techniques work (like how you punch and defend) make the long range means disadvantageous, at least compered with others styles, as you and I said every style has pros and cons and no one style is superior, like I'm a hung gar practioner, my fight style is short range too, but I never would fight short range against a wing chun practioner because the speed of the wing chun techniques is very superior, is suicide, but in a mid range I would be in advantage because of the strenght of my techniques, I say that by own experience XD
@Bernardfung20028 жыл бұрын
sorry for stick in yours conversation, but it is not about skills themselves. High level fight is like kinda chess game. Hung Gar try not let Wing Chun get close, Wing Chun will pay attention while in long range. No single martial art is the best or better than the others. Just how we use them right.

There is my opinion thanx to those who agree with me.
