Came here while trying to get a nasty u joint out, our tiger’s are bent and slip right off 🥲 Praying we can get a tool

Eeesh that sucks, sorry just seeing this comment now, youtube hasnt been great on notifications this past year. I do believe tiger has lifetime warranty on their products, hopefully able to get new one/warranty out

Now that's a nice piece of equipment to bad the first U-joint wasn't the same. I think everybody has had a taste of cheap parts no matter what you do for a living. As always the same end result, Short life span and unwanted practice as in hey I gotta do the again.

Great video thanks brother. I am glad you have the tools to make life easier. I can remember the old way hammer it out. I never got the opportunity to use a tool like that. I know by the time you got done you barely had the strength to but it back up and not mess up. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother.
@BeardedSeabee826 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, way easier than hammering out, and bit easier than cable styled ones too. And yup, was a hefty bugger to get back into place that late at night. Thanks for watching! Was hella long week last week to say least so youtube fell behind... finally startin to try and get caught up

I know this video is old but another note on automann parts, bought a brand new walking beam from them and it wouldn’t go in, turns out the damn thing was bent straight from the factory 🤬
@dodgesportsman7723 жыл бұрын
Does it install the joints as well
@BeardedSeabee823 жыл бұрын
No, removal only, unlike smaller automotive u joints that may need to be pressed in, the heavy ones just need cleaning up with emory cloth and then tapped together with dead blow
@dodgesportsman7723 жыл бұрын
@@BeardedSeabee82 I just bought the small version for cars and trucks. I will need to buy the press as well

Yup. Used to be a truck tech, now I just tow the shit :) I ordered wheel bearings from the international dealer and sent them Chinese things back when I spun it in the race on the parts counter and it had a rough spot. My boss was critical of me but not his ass if duals divorced the truck and killed somebody. Ordered timken from freightliner and put em in :)
@BeardedSeabee825 жыл бұрын
I hear ya on that one, one of the eastern iowa penske locations had couple trucks a month apart from eachother where when on way out to the location i was at had that happen, was not a pretty sight and luckly no one got hurt. the 2nd truck, luckily the drivers pulled over to truck stop to check out vibration before wheel would have managed to burn itself off axle entirely... had to replace axle housings on both trucks and 1st one everything that was part of 1st drive was done for. DO gotta like timken, they have always made good parts
@juliogonzo27185 жыл бұрын
@@BeardedSeabee82 lol I used to work for Ryder. After I refused to install the Chinese bearing I had told a guy at another location and they changed bearings on 20+ freightliners after one had a set of duals come 90% off. They were Chinese from the factory and trucks were hauling hazmat liquefied gasses. They didn't want to recreate the liquid nitrogen scene from terminator so they didn't fuck around and just changed them

Yeah Brandon I’m not sure if you do a lot of wheel studs but the tool I have in my arsenal is the OTC 4295 OEMTOOLS 24235 and OEMTOOLS 24234

Dunno if that is large enough to do semi wheel studs... but if it is, would definitly be better than sledge hammer method lol

That’s how ujoints work smh....I’ve rebuilt driveshafts and you should’ve gave it a good whack on both sides after you installed them...they’ll be tight af at first sometimes u just have to give it a good hit works best in vice with the side ujoints laying in between but on top of vice if that makes sense as to not damage shaft
@BeardedSeabee825 жыл бұрын
Well the #1 and #2 drive shafts on these trucks weigh more than i do, #3 d4ive shaft not so much. But have seen bad luck with the cheap $30 dollar ujoints the company sent us a month prior to this vid. Shop up north put one on a t4uck, lasted 2 weeks. Prior to we always installed spicer, and yeah, they are firm to a bit tight on install, but never had a ujoint be completely locked up upon install before... only the cheap shit our parts vendor sent us. Since then, Spicer only
@anthonycrosier88245 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree spicer is only way to go!
