In a Golf Digest video, Tiger himself says what you say. But there is a reason why pros putt this way that is perhaps even more important. Here it is. A human being is incapable of controlling the twist of a putter. This is in total contrast to what Dave Pelz tried to teach. He didn't have a clue about how to putt. There is just too much going on with your entire system. But when the putter is allowed to release (or swing) into it's own momentum (inertial force) it has no propensity to twist all by itself. And this calls for a grip that is as light as is humanly possible and lags the hands a bit so it can swing. Crenshaw has been very open about all this for decades. It also solved my life long dilemma as a poor short putter. Paul Azinger said it best on a TV broadcast, "You have to give up control of the putter, in order to gain control of the putter". OK. so I practiced 2 hours a day every day under a 7 foot string to FINALLY find this out for myself. Tiger's right hand only drill really helps a lot. It promotes lightness, loss of control (swinging), and unrotated release (again swinging).

I putt left handed only. Transformed my stroke and contact!

What I have keyed in on w/his stroke is a smooth flowing stroke & his pre shot routine that repeats itself every single time. Finally for me is a very quiet head even as the ball is hit & gone, then my head moves naturally up after ball is gone up & holding my follow through. TIGER was a closer as he was great.

Been struggling with my putting.... Then I tried Brandt Snedekers pop putting method.... Brandt who has had better putting stats than Tiger says the follow through doesnt matter. So he has a very short follow through. Think of it like this..... When you have a high hard accelerating follow through with a normal golf club the ball flies high... When you punch a shot you have a short follow through... It promotes a straighter end of end roll which is more consistent than a ball that takes off with more backspin

Great job. Thank you.

Looks like his ball position is in the middle.

why would you pick that putt to analyze where his right foot is higher than his left? btw, your assertion about his grip pressure is incorrect...he used that Crenshaw pressure at the AT&T the week Crenshaw showed it to him, won but never went back to it saying that he couldn't control it on faster greens (the poa greens were slow and bumpy that week)...Woods has always had the tightest putting grip pressure ever measured on any Tour pro

I agree completely. What a horrible putt to pick of all the putts tiger has videos of. Take a putt with a steeper angle to avoid the fringe. Not a good analysis at all.

It says in his own book that he used to have that tight of grip pressure and he changed it to about a 5 out of 10 pressure.

When exactly was Tiger under pressure, that he made so many pressure putts?

Maybe from 98-08 when he made literally everything. Do you not think he was under pressure going for the tiger slam when he is being touted by everyone as the best player ever? Trying to repeat at the masters in 2002 tied going into the last day?

Let's just count every putt in the final round of any major where he held the 54 hole lead...just for starters.

You could analyse any top golfer and come up the same conclusion you have with Tiger.
