@Pussy Footer ofc he wasn't, but very rarely is a movie so scary that you need to actually scream out loud. I've been in movies where you can tell people are just doing it to be funny/goofy and it's annoying as shit (one of the reasons I don't go to the cinema very often). And with Bobby's character, you can just tell he would have been playing up to the laughs and shit.

I’m against Bobby for this one. Lol I hate when people talk during the movies. Screaming during a horror movie is one thing, but giggling and chattering with your friends and going “oh noes” just fucking Infuriates me. BUT because I know people are prone to that, I purposely choose to go see a movie during it’s last week of screening and go to a late showing. It makes the experience so much better for me.

I'm from the South and I just want to say that old man in Nashville was just probably trying to help you. Bobby if you ever read this hear me out because I know it bothers you. When he put his arm around you I know you probably interpreted it as aggressive but that just how southern people are they are friendly we hug, shake hands, always say hi to each other I think he was trying to lessen the blow of what he was about to say otherwise he would've just walked by and yelled "pull your damn pants up" or something like that. And coming to the pants that's not at all a style that is popular around here and he most likely just genuinely thought you didnt know your pants were down and he was trying to save up from embarrassment because like I said people dont dress like that around here and he probably noticed people staring at you and stuff. I wasnt there maybe there was a tone in his voice but to ke when I heard that, knowing southerners, it sounded to me like he was trying to be a polite and help you.

I know tons of old dudes like this one, Bobby interpreted him coming up and putting his arm around him as an intimidation tactic because people on the west coast don't do that to people you don't know really well, but it's totally normal for old southern people to do something like that especially to someone younger than them. Hence my point I know tons of people just like this old man and he would not of taken the time to go up and talk to him in the first place if he wasn't trying to be nice. The whole idea is based on this stereotypical good Ole boy premise people have about southerners like we go around tormenting and physically intimidating anyone who isn't white, which is just fucking stupid. Nashville is a super progressive place if you say otherwise you've never been there. I guarantee you this old man just genuinely thought he didn't know his pants were hanging down so he went and put his arm around him to try and play it off like they knew each other and he was just going to say hi, which is a super super common sight around here, with the intention of saving Bobby any further embarrassment, in his mind.

The only scary movies that scare me FOR REAL are realistic ones, like “The Strangers.” The idea of “People hurting people,” is scary as hell, everything else is nonrealistic for me and it actually makes me laugh. The movie going Etiquette dictates slow burner cinephile type movie goers see movies in the daytime on school days or late late night time on school nights. If they want to respect the craft. Buying by a ticket is already enough. But giving it a good review to a good movie and getting it more buzz is cool too. I saw Hereditary at Noon and it was just me and two old ladies in the movie theater. Best expierence ever. I would of liked to see it a second time in a packed theater but never with young people, like people younger than 24. They're jokes and energy is just too mean spirited and whack to be even count as crowd enthusiasm. My sister said some people took them out of it by being loud and critical of the movie. Making jokes and chatting. This is why I follow the etiquette. And if there is group of teens at a show on school day or late show. I'll ask them before the movie to be respectful to the film buffs and based on their reaction I will stay or go a refund and go to another movie or come back later.

I’m going to tell you something about this movie that is a personal experience for me. I watched the movie Hereditary and it was truly horrifying for me. Months later I had a nightmare that reminded me of the movie it was a dream in which I was participating in a Satanic rite and I don’t remember all of the specifics but there was a child and a goat and I was trying to conjure an evil spirit. (All of this goes against everything I believe in by the way) at the end of the dream the goat spoke an said the name, “Bael.” This was a name I don’t ever remember hearing. I woke up after the name was spoken and I googled the name. It’s one of the kings of Hell. That dream messed me up and I”m still messed up.

I totally agree Bobby isn’t a bad person but I think you’re taking a very myopic view - he doesn’t do WHATEVER she wants, if you listen to him talking about the breakup he talks about playing video games 16 hours a day and having no interest in the person he’s in a relationship with. He refuses to have sex with her and watches porn and masterbates instead. He adopts the dogs but does no work in looking after them (there was a story about how his dog was getting sick and he just pushes the dog off the bed lol) He’s a good guy and I’d love to hang out with him but mate he sounds like a nightmare to live with.
