The grease points on the hinges, and a bolt instead of a welded pin, fully serviceable. R 'n' D attention to detail.

Looks good. My only question is how long will the boom slider last? Is there lubrication points to grease where it pivots and slides?
@MMikeHD39042 жыл бұрын
It'll last till a big piece come crashing down lol, and it will still be there, just busted up
@Hennes003 Жыл бұрын
@@MMikeHD3904 that slider is build like a tank. Can't bust it. It squeaks sometimes and then I add a few pumps on each side and it will last for a while

@@Hennes003 you must be in green wood lots, cant really see that lasting with all the dead pine n spruce we got, I've already bent up the older style of slide 🤷🏽♂️

Why cant you guys make the windows so that they can be unbolted from the inside instead of the outside. In case of a rollover where the hatches are inaccessable, usually if hes lucky he has a zip cut to cut his way out. But if he could quickly take the window out seems easy. Ive run these machine for years and can have seen people trapped.

The real question is why are they still using pilot controls? It's not 1985 🤷
@banffdigger2 жыл бұрын
Because the customers like the feel and precision that they give vs electric over hydraulic.

@@banffdigger in my experience electric over hydraulic paired with a good control system is more precise.

@@ponsseguy The recent model JD and cat bunchers that I have been in were inferior to the pilot control machines. The cat was downright archaic.

@@banffdigger 9/10 times that is improper setup. In my opinion the only downside to electric over hydraulic is that guys that haven't been taught how to set the system up can go into the computer and start messing things up. These machines do not come set up from the factory. That is something that gets done during PDI or delivery, so is ultimately up to the dealer. Unfortunately most dealers couldn't care less and many machines never get set up correctly. And even the ones that do can be completely messed up by someone playing with stuff they don't understand. I was in a machine like that several weeks ago. Have no idea how they ran it.

I disagree. The downside to electric over hydraulic is that over time, with the heat and dust of a harvesting machine environment the electric components become tired and difficult to adjust to the correct specs. The proof of the smoothness of a Tigercat speaks for itself, it's evident the moment you move a control for the first time from the seat. It is also a simple system, which is important for the point you raise about the complexity of electric over hydraulic. Unfortunately, in most of the world as opposed to Scandanavia, we are Loggers, not electrical engineers. A control system suitable for a Lunar Module is great if you can justify trading a machine every 3 years. Ditto if you have a staff of techs on hand to maintain the machine. For most of us, to insure adequate ROI we need to have a reliable piece of harvesting equipment for much longer than that.
