Love the H, I run a 632H. It’s our first Tigercat skidder we got it and a LX830D we come from cat machines before and very happy with the Tigercat brand. We run in the Appalachian mountains of Southwest Virginia and eastern Kentucky

My father’s business has been Tigercat proud since 1997. I have been a skidder operator since 1994. Still operate a 2002 230 B loader producing 12-16 loads a day. If u want to trade equipment every 3 r 4 yrs the other brands are fine, but if u want a machine that will hold up long after it is paid for there is no other brand but Tigercat!

The service upgrades were necessary. The old ones are nightmares to service. The seat and cab is amazing. My neck always killed me the first couple of days before I got used to looking back. Now this is a 21st century skidder.

The improvements look great! When you added the joystick button to release the seat to rotate, you did keep the foot kick lever though, right? No other manufacturer seems to understand that a skidder benefits from a large range of motion of the boom and arch. Only Tigercat can push itself backward up a hill with the grapple by shoving it down under the rear tires toward the front of the machine. If for some reason (it happens sometimes) you need to drag some logs that you have grappled 15 or 40 feet back from the butts, nothing does that like Tigercat, thanks mostly to that long long reach of the boom and arch or boom and stick or whatever we call it. That long long reach makes it a simple open-swing-close maneuver to double or triple up a few bunches in order to fill the grapple, where other skidders have to open-forward-turn-reverse-close to add the same two bunches together. Then, if you're stacking your own wood, the long long boom and arch, and the range of motion of them both, allows you to effortlessly build your decks as high as you want without spinning and chewing up the logs with your tire chains. That's why Tigercat is in its own league with no competitors or peers for steep, swampy, or otherwise difficult terrain and in situations where there's limited room to maneuver. Other skidders seem like your grandfather's tractor in comparison.

Way better machine then the CAT forestry products that are now branded Weilers. I retired From CAT dealer after 30 years as a Field tech. I always hated having to take the cabs off and all the crap you have to take off to do simple repairs on the trans. And i love the idea of that pivot bolt for the belly pans . Way too go.

The only H skidder worth a damn is made by John Deere!
@lawrencemccreery34513 жыл бұрын
I'm driving a 748H right now and all day long I can't stop comparing it to Tigercat. Nothing compares to a Tigercat skidder, although with the L series John Deere made a huge step toward catching up. The difference is it seems like Tigercat is built by actual loggers or maybe they have real loggers field test their prototypes whereas John Deere seems to be guessing John Deere really needs to take their machines out to tough ground swampy ground steep ground broken ground with bad bunching or hand falling and ask the loggers to try it out and tell John Deere how to make it better. With Tigercat you don't have to tell them they already made it better than you could have imagined you know how every machine has its limits? Well a Tigercat skidder doesn't have a limit the operator is the limit And I'm saying that as an experienced skidder operator with a big imagination
