I have always been a closet Clemson fan because of this guy right here. Not many can say they've formed a program like this the right way and with class. He gave Syracuse so much respect and I just love this guy so much and I hope they win the rest of their games. Naysayers for clemson, you have a great head coach lay off of him.

@encycl07pedia-7 жыл бұрын
+Syracuse Orange You know, it's not Swinney's fault. It's not like the player admitted they did it before in other games and received no punishment at all. Not the head coach's fault for tolerating/encouraging such behavior. www.yahoo.com/news/clemson-players-talk-art-poking-012537997.html Favorite quote: "Listen, man, I’m not an expert on defensive schemes or tactics but it was a weird look. Clemson linebacker Ben Boulware was asked about the grab on Wednesday and he wants you all to know this is a completely ordinary thing for the Clemson defense to do because they’re a bunch of guys just trying to have fun out there. 'That’s something we’ve done all year to mess with a player. No one’s probably done it as aggressive as Christian did. We try to be a little more discreet about it and just poke somebody, but he definitely grabbed a handful. I did it against USC. The dude tweeted it. I just poked him in the butt. Like, it’s just something we do to mess with players, just to kind of break up the seriousness of the game.' "

You're new to the ACC. I guess Clemson players shamelessly grabbing opponents' junk is classy to you? How about cheating with pick routes to score in the red zone? Rushing the field after beating a major underdog at home? I guess Danny Ford's well-documented recruiting violations that happened at around the same time as their 1981 title* (which should be vacated if USC can get one thrown out over a gifted SUV) is unknown to you, too. Clemson fans throwing trash on the field when opponents make a big play (see Deion Sanders' punt return). That's not a class program. A coach with his tail between his legs after a loss isn't class, either.

@josephreynolds46497 жыл бұрын
To the haters I say enjoy it. It's a sign of respect so many of you are relishing in a Clemson loss. Hasn't happened much the last 3 years. 37-3 in our last 40 games. No excuses from me. We were outplayed and Syracuse deserved to win. To Clemson Nation I hate that we lost but now we get to see what this team is made of. See if they have that fight, that drive, that Championship mentality. Have been hearing too much about being at a different level (along with Alabama) than the rest of College Football. And for the record Alabama will lose a game this year. To those Clemson people who immediately jump on the WTF is wrong with Dabo train. While you are entitled to your opinion so am I. Pull your rockin heads out of your asses. Dabo Swinney and his staff walked into a program that was cemented in mediocrity. What he has done at Clemson in his 9 years has been beyond anything any Clemson fan thought would ever happen. And if you say otherwise you are a liar. We get upset by a team that, yes on paper we should have beat, but we didn't. It happens. We lost a football game. Our 3rd loss in the last 40 games we have played. And all of a sudden "WTF" is wrong with Dabo. Again I respect your right to your opinion and I have mine. And in my opinion you criticizers blow and can kiss my ass! That from a real Clemson Fan and alumnus 88'.

It's not just this one game. Boston College, Wake Forest and now this game. We've been playing not to lose instead of playing to win and attacking. Play calling has been way too vanilla and I don't know if that's just complacency by the coaches or their faith in Kelly Bryant to not be able to execute other plays. I've never seen this offense this one dimensional in 3 years. The defense needs to get back to pinning their ears back and getting after the QB and the LB's(especially Kendall) need to get a lot tougher and in taking on blocks and tackling without getting run over by a guy who weighs 40 pounds less than you consistently. Cornerbacks are atrocious currently and only bright spot at safety it's Isaiah Simmons who isn't getting enough snaps. I love the way Muse plays and he's a physical freak, but he got burnt bad may times Friday. I also think Venables needs to disguise his blitzes a lot better. It was very easy to see where the pressure was coming from Friday and they were picked up most all of the time. We have some very fast and physical LB's and safeties that if we disguised our blitzes better they would get home much more often. We haven't thrown one pass over the deep middle or attacked the seam once with the TE this year. Again I don't know if that's because Kelly and Milan can't make those plays consistently or just ineptness by Elliot. I'm tired of these outside bubble screens that aren't getting us anything and mostly negative yards. Kelly's delivery and wind up is so slow and over the top by the time he gets the ball out the screen is literally almost already blown up and if the ball does get there in time it's so high the wr has to jump which completely throws off timing for blocking and YAC. We are abandoning the RB ground game and our RB aren't getting anywhere near enough touches. Feaster should be getting 20 carries a game damn what the defense is doing a Etienne should be getting 15 a game. Kelly shouldn't be running 20+ times a game unless it's working really well. I think he needs 15 rushes a game and Fuller and Choice should get a combined 10 carries. We should be throwing the ball 20-25 times a game. The other problem is only one game this year have we run more than 70 snaps. Last year we averaged close to 80 snaps a game with 90+ not being uncommon. We aren't converting on third down which kills our offensive snap count and allows the other team you get the ball back, control clock and run more plays than us. Just big issues everywhere IMO, BUT they are ALL fixable because they're related to coaching and decisions made by the coaches. If we fix these issues we will see this team finally play am entire complete game with the closest we've ever come this year to a complete game was against Louisville. I really really hope that Dabo was taking some serious notes at the Alabama game he was at Saturday. That's how a superior football team plays. They play each down and snap like the score doesn't even matter. Defense is out there laying wood and flying everywhere all game long. The effort in which Alabama runs the ball no matter who it is with the ball is incredible. They look like they're fired out of a cannon. We don't want anything to do with Alabama the way we're playing right now. I don't want to hear anything regarding playoffs or even ACC championship game unless it's the next game we play. Right now Clemson team needs to ONLY be focused on the next opponent and play that game like they are never going to get another chance to ever play football ever again.
@josephreynolds46497 жыл бұрын
Martin Smallwood. I wouldn't argue with what you said as it applied to the Syracuse game. I don't agree our offense has been one dimensional. Going into the Syracuse game our avg yards rushing and avg yards passing per game were split almost exactly 50/50. Personally I wish we would focus on running our tailbacks as well. I think it would set up our downfield passing game. I know that is one of the reasons we run so many damn bubble screens, to try and set up the downfield throws. Wish we would use the tailbacks on sweeps to set that up. This offense is different than last year. Kelly is not Watson. I don't know if your citing the number of plays we are running as a need to go hurry up all the time. I don't think this offense is built for that but I could be wrong. I think our O line was exposed several games ago as far as pass blocking. Watson may have hid that some last year. He was excellent at making reads quickly and getting the ball out. BUT as good as he was he threw a lot of interceptions. I don't think our Defensive scheme needs any kind of overhaul. We have pressured and sacked opponents QB's all year except the Syracuse game. Again, other than the Syracuse game, our starting DBs have played well. I guess we must agree to disagree on that. I agree we are not playing as a championship level team. I said that in comments last week. I think this offense has talent and has to find what they do best. They are inexperienced playing "as a unit". But I believe, based on past history, the coaches will figure out what needs to be done and will get it done. Our offense was very good with Taj Boyd at Q.B. They just have to fine tune this group. I don't know if they will ever be as good as the offense the last 3 years as Watson is one of those special players. Other skill players in addition to Watson were also very good. Counting Watson, 4 are playing in The NFL now. Something I'm sure you already know. No doubt there are areas that have to get better but I don't think 1 bad game against Syracuse means we need to panic. As you stated Clemson needs to look at who is next on the schedule and focus on them. Dabo has preached that the entire time he has been there. I'm speculating but I don't think that was the case against Syracuse. I have know idea if they took them lightly, were looking to the off week.....Whatever. What I saw was an uninspired, flat, unfocused team that got out played, out hustled and Syracuse wanted to play more than we did. That's why we lost and if we don't straighten that out we will continue to lose. Just an opinion.

Shaun Butler The Caucas mountains are in Western Asia. Modern day Russia, Dagastan and Checnya. They are much closer to Asia/Middle East and in the vicinity to northern Iran, far Eastern Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia (the country not the US State) than they are Europe. Not anywhere close to Europe really. Major human evolution slowed and all but ceased to occur roughly 500,000 years ago. Meaning what we look like today for the most part resembles what we looked like as a species 500,000 years ago. We all evolved from the same species of humanoid Homo Sapien, the differences in appearance such as melanin levels, skeleture and muscular structure mainly were and are influenced by environmental and climate factors.

I don't know if Hunter Johnson would have been better than Zerrick. In one game, one game he was better all the other games when they let them both play Zerrick has been better. When Hunter came in for that Wake Forest game, it was the end of the game and by then Wake had their secondary Defense in and every throw Hunter made was to a wide open receiver/TE. Let's not hype Hunter too quick. Last game was the only game where he looked decent so calm down. The coaches made some bad decisions but they are allowed to be human. The defense played like crap, although I am sure they gave their all. We lost but WE WILL bounce back. Fans stop whining bc this one time it didn't go our way, give these young men, the players, a reason to bounce back. I know if I was that age and I am the one out there sacrificing my body, I definitely wouldn't be motivated by a bunch of grown folks whining when I am the one doing all the hard work. James Guthrie You do realize that the only two teams to win more than 10 games a year 7 seasons in a row are Alabama and Clemson. I said 10+ wins a season not 10 wins per season. As in 11-1, 11-2, 10-3, 12-1, 14-1, 14-1 and now 6-1. I like how you ignored all the other accomplishments I listed as well. Like how Clemson and Alabama are the only two teams to go 37-3 the last three seasons. How does a one hit wonder go 37-3 over three years? Hmm, I wonder? What is really ironic is how you talk so much shit about Clemson and then say that the coach of the team you talk so much shit about will supposedly one day be the coach of your favorite team. You realize that makes absolutely no sense at all? Dabo isn't going anywhere. Dabo will be the Bobby Bowden and the Frank Beamer of Clemson. He built Clemson literally from the ground up. Dabo's life story is exactly the same, built from nothing. He doesn't want to live in Bear Bryant's or Sabans shadow when he already has his own program and culture he created. Not only that, Dabo's oldest son is a freshman WR on Clemson's team. His second youngest is going to Clemson in 2019. His wife and kids are completely rooted in the Clemson community. He isn't going anywhere for at least the next 8 years if ever at all. Just keep on talking shit about Clemson, how they were a one hit wonder, how they suck so bad all the while counting the days until supposedly the coach of the team you talk shit about is now the coach of the team you pull for. Irony must be completely lost on you.
