I would advise you to find a quality instructor preferably a motor officer instructor. Not jist a motor officer. And motorcycle drop guards help a lot to lose the fear of dropping and damaging the bike and make a huge difference for making quicker advancements in training. Thanks for watching!

Nice straightforward video. Definitely helpful. Once the pandemic passes, Midwest police motorcycle training in Michigan and Lock and Lean in Illinois are worth the cost of a flight and hotel. Plus you get to use their motorcycle.Then come home and put drop guards on your own motorcycle to practice with no fear.

Great video. I follow Jerry and have his course. Every prospective helps. The one thing that I worry about is that tip over when the bike dips too low. It has happened to me about three or four times and it sucks! I thought that I just wasn't getting it. Thanks again. Joe

That mishap would have been a good time to mention DROP GUARDS. Just ordered mine. Thank you for your time and patience on the phone. And, the reminiscent conversation.

So it looks like 1st gear, ok. It also seems like its one of those things like when you first got your balance on a bicycle. Once you 'got it' it was there, with instant confidence. I dont have the confidence to 'lock and turn and lean'. Just watching you do it, I'm amazed. But I know that when I actually do it. It will be a revelation. Also, you validated my always feeling more stable and comfortable when I scooted my butt towards the front of the seat. And lastly, I need to keep my fingers OFF of the front brake when I practice. It has always been a habit for me to have two fingers on the front whenever I slow down, and then keep them there as I drive slowly. I am always aware of needing the front brake, in use with the rear brake for high speed braking and emergency braking.

these vids are huge help. One question when going to full lock is it a gradual movement or just lock em as soon as you can. I'm 73 yr old and been riding 50 years. I do practice slow speed movements on road glide , have trouble getting to full lock, fear factor. Thank you

Thank you for this video, in another one, you mentioned you will show us how to fall off a motorcycle, that would be great thing to show to avoid breaking an ankle or something else, also what do you recommend for a riding boot to practice these slow maneuvers?
@motorofficertraining4 жыл бұрын
LOL, Well I don't remember saying I would show people how to fall off but I did just post another drop video. I must of been tired!! I would recommend any leather over the ankle boot, gloves, helmet and glasses. I also always use ear protection, Im deaf already!!

Hi Jay, I'm a newbie, I was hoping you could tell me why you sit so far forward in your seat when doing these exercises. Is it a "counter-balance" technique? Or a center of gravity thing? TY
@motorofficertraining Жыл бұрын
Hello. I sit high in the saddle for 2 reasons. 1. It puts me center of gravity 2. It helps me reach the clutch when i am in a full lock right turn as i cant rotate my left arm, and its 2.5 inches shorter than my right arm due to a gunshot injury i received on duty years ago. I ride high in the saddle at all times! Thanks for your support!

@erwinerwin124511 ай бұрын
Man those are some super sharp turns. So was your throttle always at exactly the same RPM or did it vary. I assume you used the clutch to slow down and kept the RPM the same. I am new at even riding a bike. I keep wondering why the bike just does not tip over when one is going so slow and leaning the bike over by 45 degrees or more.
@canadianloon64333 жыл бұрын
Brilliant. How does sitting high help?
@motorofficertraining3 жыл бұрын
It helps put you center of gravity for full range use of handle bars, much easier especially in tight turns of 15-16 feet. Thanks for watching!!

Will the guards work if i have Highway pegs on my crash bars?
@bloodymarvelous47904 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you may need to move your pegs up a bit if they're right at the lower bend.

Somehow it never goes this well when I try it. And guess what happens if you stall it while leaning way over...
@rickscholar76424 жыл бұрын
man those are some tight circles....is that seat stock? looks comfortable.....
@motorofficertraining4 жыл бұрын
Thank You Sir! Yes the seat is stock on a police motorcycle. You can make the same tight circles if you practice and especially when you don't fear dropping and damaging your motorcycle. Check out the Motorcycle Drop Guards.. a one time investment, easily repairable in 15 mins to be used over and over and protect your bike even after you gain the skills. Plus they still look custom when polished back to their original state. What a difference they make I assure you!

Hello Pat, it's actually the easiest and best way (imo) to teach someone especially a new rider control along with 1 other exercise. This technique is actually how motor officer training is conducted the first 3 days. Most students start making 18-20 foot turns within the first hour when they come train w us.
