Wow. This stuff is gold. Thanks. I have knee issues with cycling and it's a mix of a weak and lazy glute med, overall weak core muscles (commensurate to the power I generate on a bike), and tight hip flexors. To this is enormously helpful.

I've been on a bit of a journey regarding my overall fitness and health, with specific focus on glutes, leg muscles and hip flexors. Doing split squats has really highlighted how poor the strength is in my hip muscles, particularly on one side of my body. I have a question regarding hip flexor-based stretches/strengthening: have you heard about or seen something that yoga practitioners call "involuntary movement"? It's where certain muscles are held under some degree of tension for a time period, and as the time lengthens, they start to shudder or tremor from fatigue. Do you have any experiences with it?

I recently recovered from the Covid virus, but as a side effect, I have been in extructionating pain in my left calf muscle, ( liking to a throbbing toothache), if I sit down, I then get a horrible pins and needles sensation, and pain in the calf muscle, end up standing most of the day, this is extremely uncomfortable. I been to my doctor 3 times. I am now on Difine a second dose, plus a meds to tolerate it, Difene gel didn'twork, I'm now on valium 5mg. 3 times a day. I've been diagnosed with a torn calf muscle PS, I'm 59 years. I'm not involved in any Sports, slept well last night, but once I sat down for my breakfast, the pins and needles sensation returned . The pain in the calf muscle is almost gone. Can you recommend exercises please. I've been doing stretching exercises, and apply cold and hot products to the calf muscle. Any suggestions please, Regards, Greg Connolly

@@marianellaramirez3786 yes, doing a little every day really helps over time. My hip hurt so badly I started with just a minute stretch after getting the blood going with some march in place and arm swings. People think starting with just a tiny bit isn't doing anything but it really does work! Then add a little bit more at a time and now it's easy to walk 3 or more miles with no pain.

I can pass Thomas test but as I pull up it feels like my legs are twisting outward pretty bad trying to figure out which muscle is shortened can't barely do bodyweight squat because I'm leaned forward and fall forward?

Great video! I tried the modified thomas test but when i reach maximal hip extension with my knee bent at 90º it causes my leg to externally rotate and go a bit outward (slight abduction) but it doesn't happen with my knee straight, i believe it is sartorius tightness because i also feel a stretching sensation at the medial part of the knee (sartorius insertion possibly), do you think it could be the sartorius being tight? and if so how would i stretch that muscle? Thanks!
@tobechats5903 жыл бұрын
When I Carried out the first test where you lay flat on your back and drop one leg, I found that my lower back made several 'clicks' everytime I I pushed my leg to go flat on the floor 🤷 it didn't hurt but I do have lower back pain in general and I know I do have problems all around my pelvis, but I have never heard the clicks before

Great video! The Thomas stretch I can do well with left leg but when I do my right my whole leg wants to flare to the right so it doesnt come up straight up to my chest like the left. It used to, but in back in my younger years, playing soccer, I had a sciatica pull, and I feel like the issue started then. Now in my 30s I feel like that area is very tight that I end up with lower back pain when I wake up.

Hello, I hop your read this, I have had issues for 2 year Now seen various Persons with a lot of expirerende but no1 found the real cause, I have pain when cycling, after 20 minutes if I do big efforts, and after 45 minutes with a Normal pace. I think the pain is located in the pectineus, aductor longus or Sartorius. The pain is when I push down so I think it is called the extension phase. I was very tight in that area so I stretched a lot and now it is normal but still have the same pain, I have also tried dry needling. Didn’t help either. Hope you have any ideas, I can talk to the specialist again with some info from you maybe. Thanks already! I

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” Isaiah 53:3-12 NLT "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved. You lost me at Iliopsoas. I can't take anyone seriously if they think this is one muscle. The Psoas Major and Iliacus are two separate muscles with two separate actions. The primary action of the Psoas Major is to flex the Femur up to meet the spine. The primary action of the Iliacus is to flex the pelvis down to meet the femur. You also forgot the other muscles that can help with hip flexion like the Anterior Adductor Magnus Head, Gracilis and Multifidus.
