But what did we actually learn that will help the symptoms? I test positive for SLAP tear, from overhead lifting at the gym, horn blower and O Brien test pain 10/10, can't lift the arm or extend it, and the biggest challenge is finding someone who's going to give solid advice. Should I just let it mend, or exercise other structures or do daily stretching, or maybe surgery? Seems like no approach is better than the other.

Great data. Makes me aware that these common symptoms are more likely to not be permanant and can heal without surgeries. Thanks!

This is the best shoulders video I have seen. I wish I would have seen it 2 years ago. I feel much better about my pain now and will continue with rehab and ignore push for surgical intervention. Thank you.

My impingement symptoms I had for years cleared when I did an acromioplasty. I can asure you that wasn't placebo. I couldn't raise my arms at all without pain and any attemps to rehab just made the shoulders worse. And the pain at night.... Now I can do overhead pressing with weights without any discomfort at all and can sleep in any position I like. 5 years now without any symptoms comming back.

Blood flow promotes healing. The worst thing you can do is not use it at all. I don't know your particular problem but a lot of issues can be greatly reduced if you just use progressive overload starting at using whatever range of motion that's available to you until you can start going through the range of motion under tension with a band. Joints don't really have their own source of blood flow you need to move them to make any sort of progress happen

3 years of anterior shoulder pain after a gym injury. Initialy 6 months of rest, then 1st diagnosis at the doc, cortisone shot, PT for 4 months Second opinion other doc, 2 months PT. Then 3rd opinion and shockwave therapy. Then 1 year of living with it, gave up on PT. All 3 docs had a diff opinion; 2 wanted to do surgery for their 'diagnosis' (but I litteraly had 3 diff diagnosis..) 2 years post injury decided couldn't handle it anymore, again went to PT, 3 months of PT to no avail unfortunately. Watched over 3 dozen vids on shoulder pain, trying out diff rehab exercices. Working out makes the pain flair up like no other. My hobbies are gone, since I only like being active and it is a massive way of decompressing for me too. As a result stress from work has been building up for the past 3 years. Oh yeah I'm only 33 years old too. Now I'm looking into a doc who just wants to do an open minded (no predetermined diagnsosis) keyhole surgery. Because I can't go on like this I wouldn't wish injury to anyone.

@markszablewski66192 ай бұрын
Definitely seek a professional diagnosis, I spent roughly 2yrs thinking it would get better or go away all together; when I finally got smart and saw a specialist; I was diagnosed with arthritis, biceps tendinitis, and lot's of scarring from tears I never knew I had..after a well placed injection and a lot of rehabilitation, my day to day life has improved significantly..

I've been trying for years to find out why my left shoulder clicks doing anything pressed overhead and at times hurts intensely. Numerous mri's, X-rays and physical rehabs couldn't find anything, not even slight calcium buildup. It's affected my workouts so bad that i don't bother benching or military pressing anymore which is bad because i loved benching.

I'm under a SLAP lesion, I'm really struggling to find a doctor or specialist that can help me... I'm actually doing almost by myself, by doing rehab and strengthening... but still, the socket seems "popping" out a bit on the back part, (shoulder blade height). Especially when I perform like a Reverse Pec Fly, it's absolutely painful. It's almost one year now I'm living with pains ... 😢

For me overhead pressing hurts my right shoulder. So just reaching across my chest. I can chest press pec deck shoulder side raises. I started doing external rotations for the shoulder and it seems to help as my right shoulder was significantly weaker

Yes but.....what about Cervical Radiculopathy? I went to doc with shoulder pain at night and was diagnosed with partially torn subscap, labrum amd superspinatus (age degeneration most likely). After doing PT like a crazy person for over a year and having no real mechanical deficit .. or pain brought on by movement...my PT said "it could be your neck". After being online A LOT it appears that shoulder pain is the super common as a symtpom of cervical radiculopathy. I'm chasing that bugbear now. Going to get the front-side injections.

There is observational evidence that frozen shoulder in women is often related to the decline of estrogen during the perimenopausal and menopause stages which correlates with the age range of 45-60 years of age you noted in incidence for women. Studies are just beginning to understand this link. It would behoove women of this age to also consult their OB GYNs when they experience frozen shoulders.

You all haven't made a video on Thoracic outlet syndrome?
@PianoPatterns1238 күн бұрын
The take away from this video is to stay away sports, especially sports like martial arts, football, basket ball. Shooting baskets is OK, but team playing against another team is going to get someone injured. Stay in the dojo long enough and you are going to get injured. Football - you all know the drill.
