there's a slight ringing / high end resonance going on that makes it sound authentic but it also is distracting, seems anytime the gain was all the way up the ringing was present.

Sounds fantastic ! But does anybody feel it should’ve had a touch more gain ? Might be a great idea to put a little boost in front of it.
@jordanmayer59325 жыл бұрын
For a pre-amp I think the gain is good, used in conjunction with an amp head like a evh it sounds straight up deadly. Also blending fuzz into this pre-amp sounds devastating

I have a beta version of the Nemesis from when Richard was still testing them out - and I use it as a boost in front of my peavey triple x like Ola mentioned you could. I wish he would have tried it out - it’s a sick boost.

Is it worth to buy it as a booster pedal for $60-70?

That was enjoyable listening to you just get on it and go. Wider variety of playing than usual was awesome!!! Really enjoy what your doing!! Nice!!!!
@jameslyonheart79285 жыл бұрын
I bought this about a month ago or so and I would recommend getting a boost as well/rather as the nemesis thru an effects loop doesn't seem to cut the mustard by its self. That being said this review was real good and very accurate.

high end sounds good and crunchy, but the low end is hollow and empty sounding.

Helm of the Anti-lemon I think the whole idea behind this was essentially a really tight JCM 800.
@MarcAndreLevesque4 жыл бұрын
@@TheJMan1K Boost it with a Fortin 33, Dirty Tree or TC Intergrated preamp... I love this pedal! Without a boost this pedal is really close to a JMC800 like you said, even in terms of gain, boost it and it becomes a beast, like the amp it is based on.

Hey look! It's the other preamp pedal that matters haha. This is definitely my favorite single space on a pedalboard preamp. Ceres is still king though.

Ceres or kraken v4 for 5150 tones????
@PariahVSGear5 жыл бұрын
@@jesus4pincho probably the kraken. The red channel is loosely based on a 5150. The Ceres is tighter sounding and feeling than the kraken

Pariah vs. Gear have you tried the diezel herbert preamp pedal? That pedal could be as good or even better than the ksr Ceres. Its ridiculously awesome!
@PariahVSGear5 жыл бұрын
@@greggoryblock1071 I haven't yet, but I want to. The VH4 pedal really disappointed me, but I hear the Herbert is more modern sounding...I have my doubts, but I haven't played it yet so who knows haha
@greggoryblock10715 жыл бұрын
@@PariahVSGear I have the diezel herbert. Its unbelievable. It's a must try/own pedal. I was SUPER skeptical too, but its face melting insanely good! The midcut intensity knob is so awesome. Really gives you 2 independent crushing tones. Also another killer preamp pedal is the mind abuse my rock fabrik effects. 3 different voicings. All killer! And very affordable too!

Ola, I actually like that you frequently default to the same test riffs, contrary to critics. It provides a consistent reference for how all these different chains sound in contrast to each other. My two cents. PS: I like this pedal too.
@mark71665 жыл бұрын
The thing I wish these preamp type pedals would have is a clean preamp when bypassed. I don't like how the "clean" signal is just the tone straight into the poweramp.
