I hope I can speak for other novice tyers when I say I really appreciate you giving us your opinion on what size to tie if you only could use one size hook for any given fly. That makes it a lot simpler, and a lot more cost effective, to tie the patterns you showcase.

I’ve been tying Adams and Wulff patterns with EP or poly post wings for a few years now, and I love them! Great video

The hackle tails alignment trick works great. I have some 16/0 thread on order, excited to try it as I mostly tie with 8/0. Cool

I’m late for this party and had just watched the “classic” tie for Hendricksons. I was about to ask you to do a 1-minute video on how to do figure-eights around wings when I found this. Phew! What a relief. (BUT, a lesson on how to do figure eights around stuff would still be welcome!)

Love the tying vids but ever consider posting more on the actual fishing of the flies you tie?

Great video Tim. I recall my reaction when I learned that the Adams was originally tied with golden pheasant tippets for a tail. It felt like we have been lied to all these years! LOL Thanks again

That tip to align the tails is just awesome. I’ve been tying for years and never thought of that. How do you come up with that stuff?

Hey Tim, can you please do a video on a standard BWO dry fly pattern? Thanks for the great content

Close to a “ Bastard Adams” from Jack Dennison’s old book. The wing technique will be used. Cool tie.

Thanks for the video, another great one! Would the EP fibers also work for a post if making a parachute style?
@tightlinevideo2 жыл бұрын
They are OK but I like polypropylene better as it’s stiffer and makes posting and wrapping hackle easier.
