I work for a company that employs many Indiyano workers, with 1,200 personnel in the Calgary province alone. However, our employer doesn’t rigorously verify whether their permits remain valid. I believe the government should hold employers accountable for monitoring this and impose penalties for any violations. Additionally, if the government hasn’t already, they should invest more in AI technology to efficiently track and identify individuals overstaying illegally. They could also consider offering incentives to whistleblowers who help identify such cases.

My Immigration Policy Changes wish list? 1. Do not renew work permit extensions of students and TFW’s 2. Impose per country cap on nationalities with very high number of applicants to promote equal diversity of nationalities. 3. Enforce removal of those with expired permits and non-immigrant visas 4. Remove the dual intent feature of student and temporary working visas so as NOT to allow to adjust to IMMIGRANT visas. (Once a student, always a student and have to go home when their studies are done, same with temporary workers!) 5. Only students are allowed to come to Canada (not including spouses or children). Why would you need the spouses and children of students? They are not the ones going to school. The student is. This way the student has ties to go back to their home countries and ensure they go home after their studies are done. If they want to come to Canada with their families permanently, apply for an immigrant visa. It’s that simple. Are these wishes too harsh? Maybe so. But this could be the way to prevent abuse, corruption and unfairness to Canadians. This will allow the country to economically heal.

I definitely agree with your point 5

I agree to #2 3 4 5. For #1, I am okay with TFW's extending their work permits esp those na in process na PR application and to those who are in the in demand industries like healthcare.
@alf51553 күн бұрын
I agree with number 5. The Intl Student visa has to return to being for education purpose only. If they intend to be permanent resident eventually, then apply for a permanent resident like the others. Now, they have a better chance with a Cdn education.

in the first place, hindi naman talaga dapat ina allow ang pag sponsor ng grandparents...parents siguro okay lang... but grandparents? may sound harse pero dapat unahin yung mga nasa working age.. dapat practical lang..

I think it depends. Un iba wala ng parents so laki na sa lolo and lola. If my lola is still alive, I would love to sponsor her. Siya nagpalaki sa akin.🤍

They have a lottery so only a few come to Canada. I don’t know if there’s a data on this but usually older people don’t want to settle in Canada, they usually go back to their home country.

Immigration policy changes: 1. Accept international students who enroll in universities and who study bachelor’s degrees, masters, doctorate and not the diploma courses ( reasons are too obvious ), with these students not allowed to work, and most of all no spouses and children with them ( as they are not students ).

I want Canada to change its birthrights. Dapat at least 1 parent is PR or citizen before the child is granted automatic citizenship like in Australia. It will also help crackdown birth tourism where tourist come here to give birth and once nakuha na passport ng baby, they'll go back to their home countries. Watch The 5th Estate, they had a documentary about this. Mostly mga Chinese ang gumagawa nito.
@alf51553 күн бұрын
Yes. They want to change the policy in US too. Stop birth tourism.

I want a policy that prohibits Permanent Residency Renewal. Anyone who becomes a permanent resident should/must apply for a citizenship afterwards. Why apply for PR if there is no intention of becoming a citizen? This will prohibit those who are using the benefits of being a permanent resident. Some return to their home country as soon as they become a PR of Canada and then go back after a few years to renew it. It should not be that way. Just my cents👍
@alf51553 күн бұрын
Hmmm…my take on this is, why force someone to be a citizen, if they have no desire to be part of this country. Let them be a PR, and not participate in elections.
@shanty07013 күн бұрын
@@kristoffergarcia9816 PR status is permanent. It won't change unless it is revoked or when you become citizen. It is the PR card that has to be renewed because it is only valid for 5years. When your PR card expires, you are still a permanent resident. You just have to apply for a new PR card/id.

Anything Mark Miller and this government announces these days should not be taken seriously. They are on the way out and hopefully, a new government will have better immigration policies like the previous conservative gov before.

IMO their long term goals should be: 1.kelangan nila magpalaki ng populasyon para hindi na nila kelangan maghire ng TFWs in the future 2. Ayusin nila ung educational system nila(tbh super easy ang sa public school d2 compared satin) pra dumami yung professionals. In the meantime they should address the present which is- they need TWFs, low skilled, professionals, sub-prof, healthcare willing to do all the dirty work they "claim" they can do but never have the dedication to do it.

D naman nag open ang submission ng new intent for PGP. The applicants are still selected from the 2020 pool. The last draw for that selection was May 2024 and the deadline for submitting complete application was July 2024. Prior to the 2020 intent to sponsor submission,that PGP program was closed for years
