Tigran Hamasyan’s music is truly a miracle. I admire how it feels like the music speaks Armenian.
@patricepascal4632Ай бұрын
Merci Tigran ! MERCI l'artiste !

Has anyone else ever noticed that a lot of the really great musicians go into some kind of trance state when they're playing?
@wavewithus408110 ай бұрын
I think most musicians spend their time chasing that high of being IN THE ZONE.. I know I do, it's the best feeling in the world to me. Imo especially when surrounded by other musicians, 'the zone' can be infectious and when you're all in the vibe and it seems like you can all go on forever, endlessly progressing into original and cool improvised sections.. man, that's bliss.
@mikeriverajr444718 күн бұрын
@@wavewithus4081 its crazy but this is the only way i can play, IE, being in that zone, i am self taught improv musician, with no knowledge of music theory, my only ability to play is connected to getting into the zone of dumping musical thoughts and feelings into keys, if im not there , then its like i loose my ability to play, i truly wish i could learn from tigran one day, just a pipe dream , but a dream none the less
@wavewithus408117 күн бұрын
@@mikeriverajr4447 it's magical for sure man! There's A LOT of value in being able to perform/practice while you're not in the zone and feeling it. I mean, 90% to 99% of the time you play or practice, you don't get there. You'll find tricks or ways to make sure you'll achieve flow-state more often, or at least can play feeling 'okay' when you don't get in the zone. 1))For me, it's important to not burn myself out by overplaying many days in a row. I notice when I play like 3-4 hours for a whole week, I usually quit playing for the next week.. Sometimes I tell myself to not touch the guitar today, so I don't burn out. 2)) I usually start my solo practice&bandjam sessions with either improv solo over backing track or improv jamming with the band. Get's the juices flowing. 3)) Nobody achieves flow-state immediately, for me it usually takes +30 minutes AT LEAST, probably around 1-2 hours realistically most of the time.. that's where the danger lies in overplaying and burning myself out when I chase the high too many days in a row. 4)) Schedule your practice around a time you feel creative. I usually start to feel the urge to 'make' or 'create' stuff later in the evening. When I feed the urge, I pick up the guitar and I feel immediately connected. More likely to get into the 'flowstate' at those times, than if I wake up early before work to practice. I don't think it takes any magic away to realize Tigran is performing here, not practicing or playing without expectations. It's important to know the difference, Tigran has spent YEARS struggling too, stuttering and stumbling over the keys at times, not feeling things he/the band plays.. He too has had angry/sucky sessions where he or other musicians aren't prepared or struggle on a particular section for a but too long, or maybe felt a certain way about a live performance not going to his standard. On stage he is a incredible performer and will likely try hard to make sure you'll never notice any of that, bobbing his head and connecting to his music, and faking that if he has to. (Which for these musicians isn't often, to be fair, especially later in their careers and with plenty of live-experience)

Given the location of the concert, tickets might have cost an arm. Younger people maybe don't spend too much on concerts with the age of youtube now, who knows. Tigran is very well known in most of my social groups (a lot of jazz enthusiasts), and we're under 30!

This quality/frame rate video should be a REQUIREMENT for recording world class pianists. Following fast fingers is so much easier at this frame rate. I wish whoever did this vid would go video some Hiromi concerts, it would be fun to actually SEE what she is doing. Spectacular concert, here, such an emotive pianist, and what a place to play!
