Tigran Gertz great video, my minimum is 40$ for a lawn. I average $55-$70 on yards. but I agree with you Landscaping is so much better than cutting grass. a few of my examples is I spent 4 hours planted transplant monkey grass and put mulch down.... made $500 profit . just did a pinestraw job for $365 - $80 for pinestraw. I enjoy cutting grass and will advance enough to eventually have a grass squad and a landscape squad

I agree with you to a point but you dont have to scale to 400 to make a good living mowing, you just need 100 good properties and all the annual maintenance in the yard as well. 1 employee plus yourself can do that in 4 days per week. 2 days a week, if i choose, I do add on work or make up for rain days. Easy peasy. Then promote your employee to your role and hire him one laborer, now you just to the paperwork 2 days a week. Retirement made easy.

I like you channel, videos, etc. However, don't forget to tell the whole story about landscaping. Not just the cool cars of homeowners and stuff but all the paperwork, Overhead, finding contractors when you have none in the area to do the work you need etc... and oh yea, not to mention start-up costs, lol. Not saying its not worth it because it definitely is but I'm just saying these people don't know that and it'd be cool if they/we heard it from you!

Your insurance is going to be way higher then lawn care only. Workmans comp for all of your employees. Rental cost or maintenance cost and depreciation for all your landscaping equipment is way higher then lawn care. Actual profit on that job was probably less than 4000. That is easily obtainable with that many employees using mowers in the same amount of time probably more.Good luck with your choice hope it works for you.

There's serious money in lawn care where I live. Landscaping is fun and it's very artsy however lawn care is simple. Trim ,cut, edge, blow that's it most yards in and out 12 to 15 minutes

Id rather have 3-4 crews out mowing instead of 10-12 heads on one job. I think having multiple paychecks instead of one huge one is worth it in a way too. I love a scalable model for mowing which I think we figured out. Margins are good as well. Guess just personal preference

75 plants... shit ton of rock... 3-5 guys working the job supplies... debris removal... delivery fee for the rock and plants... equipment cost... take all that away and then tell us what you profited. Cause I know in my area all that isn’t cheap especially that much rock. And if you bought good grade plants that ain’t cheap. Not saying you can’t profit more by doing landscape in a shorter amount of time. But there’s a lot more variables involved and cost. I agree with a lot of people commenting, I don’t drop the gate of my trailer for under $40 unless it’s a small front yard only. If you get good accounts and do good work you can make good money mowing and on top of that get the landscaping jobs from your mowing customers. Also get the snow removal from them as well. And not sure about your area but as far as mine, it’s a lot harder to find people willing to pay 5-10,000$ for landscaping. You may get a good landscaping job once a month if you play your cards right. It’s not as steady and consistent as mowing. But that’s just my opinion.

25 dollars is wayy too cheap unless if super small front yard... what if your equipment break down like frames, blades, idles, cable, spindles or anything. Not worth it..... $25, really? plus business will not going well, it base depends on yards size and how tall is grass.

I've been in the business full time for 18 years, we are on both sides of the fence...landscaping and lawn care. So I know a lot about both. I run muiltiple crews. Why don't you do your subscibers a favor and share you net profit on jobs after your overhead....this way they have realistic expectations. You only share your gross profit numbers....and it makes it sounds better than it actually is.....how about sharing your net profit....im going to assume you probably only profited $4,000-5000 on this $13,000 job after labor, materials, equipment. Which isn't bad!! From looking at your comments it looks like your videos are motivating people which is great....but I think they would be better if you were (real) with them about profit margins. I think people lean more towards lawn care at the beginning is because it is a cheaper overhead to get into. Mower, trimmer, blower your ready to make money. Just my 2 cents! I'm going to sub in hopes to see you in your upcoming videos explain gross profits compared to net profits.

How did you get the money to buy all of the equipment necessary to do those landscape jobs? Were you fortunate, and someone gave it to you and said " here, I like you so I'm giving this to you"? I would like to get into landscaping. Its kind of intimidating. There is a lot of knowledge there. Lawn care is easy to get into. I don't know anything about any of the crap you do. I don't even know how to run a CAT. You know what I mean? I guess if I want to evolve into bigger projects I need to take some college classes or something.

$25 lawns? Bro the average here is $60 and that was prior to inflation/gas prices. I make $500 a day in like 4-5 hours and thats because my routes are spread out. I hear ya though, thats still 200 lawns to 3 days. I also do $500+ yard clean ups, and upsales so its coo.

I'm in South FL too. My average price for service is $40. It's a bit harder to get clients being a little above average price, but there are so many unreliable lawn services down here to make me look better. The business is tough down here considering all the labor workers willing to do the work for pennies.. I hear of people paying as low as $15 for a lawn, only a clown would work for that kind of change... I strive to sell my reliability and quality over all the others. Believe in your product! Best regards, Jon E

To each his own! good luck man. i guess the headache landscaping is unappealing to me. Lawn care customer might call and ask you to raise the mower deck next week. Landscaping customer might call saying their retaining wall collapsed and hurt someone. Even if 100 called the problem can be fixed easily

I agree with you. I have begun to limit or faze out individual home lawn care. I have about 7 HOA’s and 5 commercial doctors/restaurants that net me about $225,000 a year. The biggest advantage is reducing client volume thus reducing phone calls. I actually started feeling weird once the phone calls stopped coming in. It made me feel as if I’d lost something when in fact this was a case of less is more. I’m happy with this portion of lawn care. But definitely need to up my landscape sells. I mean we do 1 a week but should be more dedicated on that side of the business. Next week we are scheduled for an $11,000 job so that’s pretty sweet. Love your vids man.

25$ a lawn was your issue right there. Not even worth doing a lawn for 25$. If your in Cali you need to be doing 75-100 bucks a lawn.

In Florida small yards is 25 a cut and if they go monthly is 80 a month that is the going rate now if you do 25 a cut and you do the at 100 a month 100 houses at 20 houses a day you have 10,000.00 a month. So yea 25 a cut
