Tikka Build; Smithing, modifications and Assembly

Well here is the majority of the build process on the Tikka T3x Stainless lite 243 into a heavy barrel target rifle chambered in 7WSM for longer range capabilities. I am now in the process of load development but initial shots are shooting a 7mm 180g bullet 2900 FPS at a near minimum charge! I was hoping to reach 2950 but if 3,000 is possible, bring it on!

I just finished threading and chambering my new Tikka Hunter barrel yesterday. Nothing wrong with the way it was before other than the fact that the barrel on my 6.5x55 was only 22 inches long. I felt that the short length kind of limits the potential of the rifle/chambering. I too got a stainless steel light-varmint profile barrel similar to the one you showed in your other vid. I threaded the muzzle and by using the one inch section that I cut off I was able to use that to make a seamless looking thread protector to match.

I learned to not use those ramps as they always climb up over the edge. Best way to open up channel is to use deep well sockets, with sand paper wrapped around and a long extension in socket.
