Nah the girl in the Sza situation was weird. She was clearly pleased about being noticed even in a negative light. And the fact that she's still talking about it and the way she talks about it shows she doesn't think she did anything wrong. I found it funny how the fan couldn't understand why Sza dm'ed her and not people who hate her. But why would you dm someone who openly dislikes you? You aren't going to change their mind. Thinking that messaging your fan would have an positive impact is much more logical because they like you and would probably also want you to like them. Like I personally would have guessed that getting a message from a person you like or admire would get you to rethink your actions. If they are active in the fan community it might even promote healthy self-policing of also informing others of "She is uncomfortable with that and has asked fans not to do that. She sees this stuff and has even asked some fans personally to stop." My logic would also be that you would be more likely to message someone younger that their actions/words are hurtful or inappropriate, because we are more forgiving of teens and think that the cause of the action is ignorance. This is why I have no issue clapping back at kids. We need to stop protecting them when they do shitty behaviour and show them the consequences of their actions. Don't dish what you can't take. Your age doesn't absolve you. I had a younger cousin when I was in my early 20s that used to make fun of my weight. I ignored it at first but then got tired of it because he wouldn't stop and his mom would be like, "Well, he's just a kiiidddddd." I'm sorry, but when I was his age (he was 10), I knew that kind of behaviour was wrong because my mother taught me. So I clapped back, roasted his big ass ears, roasted his braces, roasted the fact that he still slept with a night light (in front of his friends), so on and so forth. He started crying and ran off to find his mom. My aunt got mad at me but I said, "Maybe if you held him accountable instead of excusing his behaviour, he'd not be a little shithead." (Which caused him to cry harder btw) He never did it again and stopped the behaviour in general from what I know. Over a decade later, he apologised to me and said that my words caused him a lot of insecurity for years. I told him that I wasn't sorry and that it was a teachable moment for him to consider his words/actions towards others.

This is why as a preschool teacher I perform discipline to my children in my care to teach them right from wrong. I make them learn that there are consequences to their actions. Most parents in my service are wonderful but I will meet some occasional ones that are…not so friendly. These are families who either don’t care or listen no matter what I tell them or they only find reasons to complain (never a compliment or feedback, just all they do is complain). Mind you, I’m also a parent to a child with autism and I have to also work hard to teach him the ways of the world and to help build his resilience and independence. I HATE it when people say that kids will be kids because kids CAN learn and they should be accountable for their actions no matter their age.

On top of that, she actually shared something that’s pretty personal, saying how this trend caused her so much anxiety and self doubt that she found it hard to do shows and that it hurt her feelings that the girl posted that. About the whole teenage girl and SZA thing: As a young adult myself, I can tell you we're not all like that. Some of our parents actually raised us with common sense, accountability, and respect. Girls like that are, as we all know the stereotype, very insecure projectors. I just wanted to express how much the first video clip resonated with me. My son and I run a lawn channel and we have recently discovered that someone has been stealing our content. This Channel not only took our entire content without giving us the credit, but is also posting almost all of our videos as if they were theirs. To make matters worse, they have blocked us from their channel and are trying to pass off our content as their own - even though we are the ones featured in the videos. It is extremely upsetting when we request them to take it down due to copyright infringement, yet they refuse to comply and continue to post our content. We have reported the channel, but nothing has changed as of yet. These instances make it clear how easy it is for unscrupulous individuals to steal and repost the content of hardworking creators.

Would it be too distracting to add a watermark saying "Video created by [channel name/handle]", appearing every now and then on the video, at spots in the picture where it'd be obvious if it was just blurred out? Such practises don't seem to be common on KZbin, but on other platforms I've seen even videos where a large logo of the creator is bouncing around the screen during the whole video. So apparently theft is a bigger problem on some other sites, so apparently KZbin is doing something more than them, but still not enough.

@@tiryaclearsong421 Now I don't really believe that notion on empathy. For one, kids can and are usually the most empathetic individuals out there. Empathy is an emotion. To a point, you either have it or you don't, even as a kid, because a lot of it hinges on your relationship with emotions to begin with. And as a kid, if there wasn't a lot of trauma to damage that relationship with emotions, that would give more room for empathy because that relationship is stable. Now, with sympathy, I can see that argument holding up well, since that's more of a reasoning/logical way of expressing concern, often because there's a distance between the people, from experiences, attachment, etc. That is something you'd have to learn. Anyway, the primary reason why people usually don't diagnose personality disorders in kids is because their behavior can be indicative of a lot of things, and because they're younger, there isn't that much history to discern a pattern of behavior in personality. Also, personality disorders tend to be hard-baked into the person. Given it's a disorder of the personality. With someone so young, however, there is the potential to rectify any damage done and help alleviate the symptoms to the point it isn't considered a personality disorder. And I'm saying this as someone who is emotionally blind, so my empathy is limited as a result, with both a family and personal history with BPD, so I'm not talking out my ass. Also not just ranting for the hell of it. Lol. It's just stuff I'm interested in as well.

@@slsthewriter1299 Most disorders are rarely diagnosable in people under the age of 18-25 because the adolescent brain basically is capable of reproducing every single disorder in the DSM V without being a permanent state, and probably will reproduce several. It's an emotionally volatile time. Empathy is not an emotion itself, it's the ability to understand and relate to the emotions of others; when your brain is all over the place and you don't understand your own feelings, it's a lot harder to empathize with others. That's why some extremely empathic children wind up seeming to lose that empathy during adolescence, but then once they're fully adult, seem to miraculously regain it. This is the explanation given both by my developmental psych course and my brother, who is a clinical mental health counselor with several adolescent clients. In a more colloquial way, I'd describe it as "hormonal flooding turns kids into monsters." It can happen to adults with hormonal difficulties, too; I tried progestin birth control, and as my mother described, I became "a ball of apathy punctuated by flashes of insane fury." I got off the progestin, and within three days was a reasonable human being again. You are definitely right that this isn't something that's only just started happening because of the Internet, though. It's been going on for as long as human beings have been. Still, we need to call it out when we see it happening, because you can't learn to not do it if nobody ever lets you know that you're doing it and it's wrong.

And the mechanism behind both is whether you feel it, or you don't. The asterisk to that is more that you could still be physically feeling empathy towards another person, but there's other contributing factors that get in the way. Regardless, a lack of empathy explains why people, like psychopaths, are the way they are. The legitimately do not understand caring for people, because they legitimately do not feel that. Likewise, they can understand the logic behind why you should feel bad, given that's where sympathy lies. With the disorder thing, I still doubt it, because that's not…an actual reason? What you're referencing is a hormonal thing. That can happen to anyone, including adults. For instance, after severe trauma to the body where it's hormonally altered, and different behaviors are perpetuated. Or, substances. From experience, the primary reason why seems to cumulate from 1) a denial towards mental health, 2) teenagers are still very young. There isn't as much history there to reference for a disorder since most disorders are dictated by the observation of behaviors for an extended period of time. Which. Fair. But in those with, say, personality disorders, those signs were always there. And in diagnosis, the professionals usually do a deep introspection with their patient into their childhoods, and they do so for a reason. And then there's just stigma. You say disorders are rarely diagnosable under 18-25, yet people are diagnosed with all kinds of anxiety and/or depressive-based disorders, or autism, or ADHD, very young. (Some of them misdiagnosed because…people also just like throwing medication at a problem, but that is a different tangent.) Big reason why is those disorders are more widely "accepted", and they're trendy. As opposed to things like, say, BPD. So, honestly, just as much as there's good reasons for disorders to be diagnosed later on, there's just as many bad. People want to diagnose their kid in school with ADHD to throw medication at the problem. People don't want to deal with a "BPD" kid, so that kid, as an adult, has to go out to find help on their own.

Good afternoon Charlotte, I'm happy to say that I found a way to cope with my panic disorder. I found out that whistling is at this point is calming me down with tremendous effect. I haven't had a panic attack in 10 days. Before that I was having a panic attack at least once a week for over 2 years. I'm also volunteering at Brave Hearts every week now, because of how much they've helped me, and to keep me on track to getting back to a paying job. It will still be a long road, yet I'm seeing a faint light of hope at the end of a very long tunnel. Thank you so much for your continued help to this very grateful veteran

Definitely with you on the Sza situation. That girl was entitled and rude. Sza however, was graceful, mature and extremely patient with her.

I’m not a Sza fan, but a true fan would never bully an artist that they truly loved. That fan needs to check herself. There is so much hate out there in the world. Why spread negative comments especially if it’s one you know your favorite artist asked people not to do? Sza handled that situation gracefully and with class. This girl is just upset because she got called out for her actions. Bad behavior has consequences.

The girl who resurrected the Sisa meme clearly showed her immaturity by responding to a “private” message with “public” whining. The appropriate response to any DM is with another DM. And the appropriate response to Sisa’s message would be a simple, genuine APOLOGY.

Too many men know the age of consent but not what consent is. On scout camp told the 17 nearly 18 year old trying to flirt/stalk me I told him I’m 15 and had a boyfriend didn’t care, took our Scout leader telling him to back off before he got the hint
