So here's the thing that no one ever talks about with the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. They were using their hands to scoup up a ping pong ball sized glob and rubbing it in, THEN setting it with a matte powder foundation using the sponge it came with and mashing and dragging it into the skin.

Lool! I used to use one of those triangle makeup sponges to apply it and then cover my face with shitloads of Rimmel transparent matte pressed powder using a filthy kabuki brush that would leave bristles all over my face. The pressed powder would ALWAYS be completely broken as I would take it to school with me so it was forever being launched around in my school bag. Also at lunch time, I'd apply a new layer of foundation and then a new layer of powder on top of that 🤦🏾♀️.

I think applying eye cream over concealer will go terribly wrong for many people. I was surprised she doesn't mention anything about water bases or oil bases and how one can break up another or make it look coagulated. For this to work the formula of both the concealer and the eye cream/moisturiser matters the most.

The Dream Matte Mouse was my holy grail in high school. I had a perfect match. And in high school I didn’t have a single blemish and my skin was always just right in regards to hydration. But I loved this product man. A little went a long way, people may have liked it more if we had beauty blenders back then. I would do small dots and it would spread and blend so well. I honestly didn’t think they even still sold them anymore. But I’m in opinion, if they had more shades and instructions to not get goops of it and throw it on the face, I think this would be a much more popular foundation. The lightness feeling alone is amazing.

The very first one with the the concealer technique with the eye cream, I wonder if that would be a great technique for those of us that are of older age who are starting to get the crow's feet and the little creasing under the tear area of our eye to prevent any settling that occurs when we do use concealer there. I want to try this just to find that out because my concealer tends to settle in those areas often so I want to see if adding the eye cream will actually help with that settling at all. Oh I get to do my own test I'm so excited

When it was at its peak and I was in high school, we also weren't really using brushes or sponges, just smearing it on with your hands, which definitely didn't help.
