If Covid was like the Bubonic Plague with like a 95% death rate then I'd risk it, but between the Covid 99% survival rate, having avoided it pretty well, having basic hygeine, and not interacting with that many people due to my condition, it could be more dangerous for me to get the vaccine. Ultimately, I wish people could just respect other people's choices, as long as they understand the risk assessment and make a thought out decision then that's cool. If you get the vaccine, cool, no one should shame you; if you don't take the vaccine, cool, no one should shame you either. The Covid vaccines are new, there's been some bad side affects for some people (people can react very differently to various medications/drugs, thus why the million warnings on everything you take), one vaccine had to be stopped because it was that dangerous (one my dad almost got), and now with the variants it's questionable how valuable the first batch of vaccines will even be. A lot of people are wary of a vaccine that is not as widely tested, I've been vaccinated before when I was younger (baby and in school), but those were widely known, long-term tested, and trusted vaccines, meanwhile there have been incidents like what happened with Polio where a lot of people had their lives destroyed by faulty vaccinations. There's a reason why stuff like this shouldn't be forced on people, it's the responsibility of medical professionals to make an argument for and convince people, when you're reasoning is just, "Shut up and do it," don't be surprised when people don't respond well. Especially unhelpful is the refusal to engage with legitimate concerns and debate, when many other professionals in the medical field are shut down and not allowed to debate or point out possible problems then it creates an environment of distrust that makes people wonder why they're not allowed to pose questions. Draconian authoriatarianism is never a good thing, no matter how "righteous" the cause. Also propoganda doesn't bring people over to your side, it just makes them more annoyed, so cringe like SNL or these Tik-Toks makes people even less likely to just blindly be sheep. If Covid was more akin to the Bubonic Plague, then I doubt you'd have to do raffles and SNL musicals to try bribe and manipulate people into getting it. It's like the retarded nurse tik-tok dances, it pisses people off and shows no respect for them.

@nul The concept of herd immunity does not apply to COVID. It is a respiratory virus with animal reservoirs. It is impossible - at least with our current technology - to wipe out COVID for good. Like the seasonal flu, there is no cure and it will return every season - most likely with a different variant. @nul You can't even "suppress" it in the traditional sense. Look at the flu. Every season it comes back in a different strain. You can get the flu shot, - which lessens the likelihood of getting infected and having a severe case - but it is not 100% fullproof. People still get the flu after getting the flu shot. This is exactly how the so-called "vaccine" works. It lessens the likelihood of getting infected and getting a severe case of COVID, but as we have recently seen, you can still get sick and carry/transfer the virus even while vaccinated. Recent studies have shown that vaccinated individuals can even carry a higher viral load than unvaccinated individuals - I'm not exactly sure why this is (I'm not a doctor). There are also millions of Americans that have contracted COVID naturally - I'm one of them - and as a result have a higher antibody count than the vaccine could give me. Natural immunity is more effective than artificial immunity. The COVID scare is what happens when a weak and ignorant population is faced with a problem that, in all honesty, is fairly minor. The average individual is at an incredibly low risk of dying from COVID, and yet we treat it like the Plague. We tell our four year old to get vaccinated, even though they are more likely to die from the flu than from COVID. There are more pressing issues than a virus that is basically a bad case of the flu is what I'm getting at.
