Lying about sexual assault is incredibly damaging. It doesn’t just hurt the person who is wrongly accused, it can tear apart their entire life, robbing them of their freedom, reputation, and trust from others. They may lose their career, friends, and relationships, all because of a lie. These false accusations also harm real survivors. When people lie, it makes it harder for true victims to be believed, leaving them feeling abandoned and silenced. A lie about something this serious sends a message that people’s lives don’t matter. That’s why, if someone lies about sexual assault, they should face severe consequences, not just a slap on the wrist.

False allegations make up around 2% of all allegations. It’s so incredibly rare because rape is so common, but because if that tiny amount most people refuse to believe anyone who comes forward now. It’s heartbreaking for real victims because they should always be believed

The problem with litigating false accusations though is that mostly likely it would lead to more actual victims being punished for speaking out than people genuinely lying. SA is incredibly hard to prove since most cases don't leave any evidence. It would only work if it were applied in a strictly legal context, ie people who pursue false SA charges in court. And even then it'd be very easy for abusers with power and money to counter claim against victims saying they're lying. If it were applied broader to general public speech then it would suddenly become incredibly dangerous for victims to speak up unless they have bulletproof evidence of it. I was SA'd as a kid, I've chosen not to speak out beyond some close friends about it for my own sake, but if I did decide to call him out it'd be my word against his. I imagine that's the case with 99% of victims. It's just impossible to litigate such a thing without causing massive harm to victims as well

Fact of the matter is, someone who is ok with being physical with someone who is completely obliterated, is not ok in the head. Flirting or not. Doesn’t matter if you flirt with someone, and then get inebriated, if u cannot talk without slurring your words, really doesn’t matter who has flirted or who if they were flirty before. Sounds like this video is at times making excuses for the claims of SA. Whether we have a person who is lying about SA (which is despicable), or a person who is taking advantage of an inebriated person coz they flirted with them before. Find the stance here questionable… Oh and this alpha beta nonsense was based on wolf packs only, not human beings. I had been following AJ and Bambi for years and have been waiting for someone to cover this. Everything about this was so WEIRD and watching it unfold in real time was crazy. I actually have a screen recording of Bambi's very first reel vaguely addressing AJs accusations over a year ago. She deleted it right after uploading it, so I was like "Shit, let me save this just in case nobody else has!" She basically said that she's coming out as pansexual because she was forced to due to false SA accusations from a female friend. She started crying in the video and explained that she wanted to come out on her own terms but had that taken away from her. I found it really odd that she framed serious accusations as a coming out video, so I believed AJ at the time -- albeit reluctantly -- because literally everyone in the situation felt very suspicious. I recently unfollowed AJ because I was sick of her annoying boyfriend posts LMAO but now I'm glad I did. The weirdest part of everything that I never see anyone talk about is the fact that Bambi is technically Grace's step sister because Grace's father adopted her a couple years ago. I don't know if it happened before or after their relationship, but either way, WTF?? Everyone involved seems to be insane for different reasons. His point is that it had been consensual when sober and wasn’t made clear to the other party when the first lost interest and no longer fully consented If one party no longer consents but does not make that clear and the other party does not realize that then the fault lies with nobody and everybody at the same time because the person should have felt safe enough to say no and the other person should have asked if it was still ok But at the same time even if you don’t feel safe you should still say no and start fighting if the other person doesn’t listen All of which is very easy to say and theorize over but very hard to actually do most times Now if consent and boundaries are given before the consumption of any substance it should all be ok and end well But if one party is sober and another is heavily intoxicated nothing sexual should ever take place because the intoxicated party could be too intoxicated to consent properly In my opinion there are instances in which it is ok like I mentioned before consent given while sober and respected regardless But in most cases I definitely say that a drunk yes is a sober no

tw: sa i was sexually assaulted by my friend's friend, i questioned it over and over again because I didn't say no on the occasion, but before that, i repeatedly told them that I didn't want them to touch me and then they'd just do more, so i was scared they'd do more if i told them to stop. this person is autistic, which makes me think "maybe they just missed the queues" but then again, i told them to stop. i straight up told them to stop, repeatedly. it was on them, not me. (i am also on the spectrum, btw, and I don't go around gr0p!ng people that i call my friends) now, my point is, there is a huge difference between missing queues and being malicious. it can be hard to tell the difference at times, but if you're going to speak out about something specifically saying it was malicious, you need to make sure that it really was. sa is really serious, spreading misinformation about it is damaging. there's other stuff that is effed up, but i felt the need to yap about this part

Hey, just a quick reminder, you can not, no matter the level of intoxication you are at within the moment, if you were flirting or not prior/during you CANNOT CONSENT. A quote from a university of tulsa article states, "Consent means a person has given voluntary permission to participate in a particular activity. Consensual sexual activity means that everyone involved has actively agreed to what they are doing, without being forced, coerced, or under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Without this active, verbal agreement, any sexual activity is considered sexual assault.". Also, I think the reason they do not state each other names and say allegedly for legal reasons which is very common within commentary/ and other categories of videos to avoid going to court for Defamation especially the claims are big or if the creator/company has more power. (Sorry if this sounds scattered brain or has errors)
@corgi_draws27 күн бұрын
Another quote from the University of tulsa "A person cannot give consent if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This includes someone who is passed out. Engaging in sexual activities, including having sex, with a person who is heavily intoxicated is a violation of the TU Sexual Violence Policy and is illegal under Oklahoma law." And "Remember, if you are unsure whether someone is sober enough to consent, it is best to “play it safe” and not engage in any sexual activity. It is your responsibility as the person initiating the sexual act to obtain consent, even if you are also drunk or under the influence of drugs. This means that you can and will be held responsible for any acts of sexual violence that may occur."

I usually like watching your videos, but I did have a few critiques about this one. I found the SA/essay joke pretty just unfunny all round. It felt somehwat distasteful and just wasn't funny to warrant even saying. It also rubbed me the wrong way what was said around 8:30 in the video. No matter how many times an event has occured, it doesnt just automatically denote consent, especially if inebriated. It came across as dissmissive.
@hayleyhodgdon614824 күн бұрын
the joke is about how we as a society are so concerned with censorship and trigger warnings that we end up doing a disservice to the problems. sexual assault should not be reduced to “SA” because it reduces the severity of the crime by separating empathy. his joke is a very pointed call out of how sad it is nobody can take anything seriously and maturely. your feelings are valid, but people need to be able to have a clear dialogue about rape and sexual assault without needing to censor every last fucking word. if the word rape being read on a phone screen triggers a victim, there is a lot more wrong than the typed out letters r a p e. this is all coming from a victim of childhood sexual sodomy. words have power. taking away the value of words diminishes what people go through. if someone is triggered by real words typed on a screen describing situations, that is THEIR problem, and needs to be addressed. thanks for my listening to my ted talk

@hayleyhodgdon6148 I appreciate your reply. I feel we are on the same page as I agree about the point that words have power and we should be able to say the full terms and call things what they are to give them agency. Perhaps it was a bit of sensitivity from my end given the seriousness I felt towards the situation that it came across to me as a joke about sexual assault in general.

Okay, so like. I've rly got some concerns about some of your takes in this video. Don't get me wrong, these women sound unhinged and petty but some of your comments and thinking here is a little concerning. Okay, so first, whether one can 'convincingly' transition well without being well off; this has a a kernel of truth to it but also lots of ppl haven't had any surgery, some ppl transition hormonally young, some ppl just naturally had a good bone structure or body type, some ppl crowdfunded their surgery then went back to poverty. It's not the dead certain observation it's presented as here. I'm more concerned about your thoughts on Bambi (I think? I'm not familiar w these Tiktokers sorry) making out with AJ while drunk. Firstly someone that drunk can't consent, idc if they try to initiate your job is to turn them down til they sober up. I say this as someone who was SA'd while very drunk. Secondly, i RLY didn't like the way you said 'and you started making out with her first' as some kind of reason it wasn't that bad or something? Consent can be revoked at any time, that's it, that's all there is to it. I initiated w the girl who SA'd me too, but i then revoked my consent and the fact i initiated does not make it any less of a sexual assault. So like. Yeah i dunno about these women specifically or rly either just that incident but i do know these things. (also I'm pretty certain all the 'allegedly' and 'apparently' is an obvious attempt to avoid a libel lawsuit rather than evidence of someone ACTUALLY being uncertain or unsure. I dunno that feels WAY too specific to me.)
@Roach_201026 күн бұрын
Thank you for bringing these up. The way he phrased things really bothered me, idk if it's just me being weird or not but the whole "transitioning convincingly" sounded odd..same with his whole take on consent. Again, I really don't know if it's just me being sensitive or not but it made me extremely uncomfortable as transgender dude that's been sexually assaulted. Sorry for the rant.

Just because someone flirts doesn't mean they want to kiss you or even do more with you. I get people wanna be dismissive since AJ is lying, but we have to be careful how dismissive we are because it then can bleed into actual cases of sexual assault being dismissed because the victim was flirty. I am a survivor of it as well and have been abused in such a way at multiple times in my life, and some by my boyfriends. So I just want people to be careful about this subject and remember consent can be rescinded at any point. To keep going when someone says no, even after it has started is assault.

In the beginning i dont think grace was trying to say bambi should be cancelled for the drunk thing, shes just explaining the event that made her decide to no longer be her friend/feel uncomfortable about her character. Also i think things like this can be mentioned publicly as long as it's not done as like a cancel piece, esp when you had a very public friendship that ended and now ppl want to know why (as long as its something you feel comfy sharing.) Also AJ was in a relationship for 5 years and has 1 bf since then lol. Ryan was the guy she dated for 5+ years, the new guy she is with is a fucking dating coach lmao. Not to defend her at all, just the "always has a new bf" isnt a true claim. Also AJ isnt american so i wouldnt consider her a "typical LA creator." I dont like any of these girls but unfortunately they keep cropping up lol. Tbh I don't think some of bambi's "proof" really shows much in some cases, like the proof of her saying negative stuff about Grace. Grace already said that at one point both of them were being toxic and shit talking each other due to Bambi's influence, so just showing one of them talking shit doesn't really prove much except that they were in fact doing the toxic shit grace said lol

I don't know what ends up happening later on as I'm only 9 minutes in, but so far you're using very dangerous language. You have to consent to romantic actions every single time they happen, not just once. Being in a romantic relationship with someone isn't consent for these actions, so having a flirty relationship with your best friend DEFINITELY isn't consent for these actions. I could agree to kiss you every single day for 100000 days, but if on the 100001 day you kiss me without my permission, that's assault. Implied consent is not consent. However, we do need to empower women to say no. We need to make it safer for them to do so. It is oftentimes dangerous for them to say no, it is looked down upon or they are treated as difficult. Communication is extremely important, and nobody can read your mind. Don't think what the other girl did is "cancel worthy " but it is definitely worth a larger conversation.
