Stage 1: Targeting the victim. - (example: A Victim may have a lot of issues in their personal life and has lower self- esteem or emotional neediness) Stage 2: Gaining the victim's trust - (Example: An offender/pedo will listen to the victim and fill in any needs and be there to befriend them.) Stage 3: Filling a need - ( example: When a victim may be looking for affection or love, or maybe gifts.) Stage 4: Isolating the child - (Example: An Offender/pedo will make situations with the victim to gain special connections) Stage 5: S3xu@lizing the relationship - (Example: The offender/pedo will use this new trust and ask for either photos, videos, or suggestive content.) Last stage - stage 6- Maintaining control - (Example: As the offender finally gains full control of a victim they may start using blame tactics, taking away things the victim may have needed or gotten from this relationship, or gaslighting to make a victim have self doubt.) Your brain resorts to this adaptive defense mechanism when trying to cope with stressful or overwhelming events that it cannot prevent or escape. Shock helps reduce your awareness of your physical or emotional pain by dulling your senses, making you numb, and reducing your conscious cognizance of the event." (Found on verywellmind.com) Common symptoms of this type of shock victims face is emotional denial -- which is where they are telling themselves it's THEIR fault or they put themselves in that situation. Most times offenders/pedos use excuses saying "YOU wanted this", or "Well you're body said otherwise" as a way to make the victim feel worthless, another few symptoms are Confusion, Helplessness, Fear, Anxiety, Etc. Physical symptoms can be Chills, Dizziness, Vomiting (Something I felt after my own encounter), Rapid heartbeat, and more. Another common reason a lot of victims don't tell is because they are threatened to secrecy, some threats may be: "If you tell I will k*ll you!" or "I will find your family." sometimes even gaslighting the victim. As well in some cases or incidents victims of S3xu@l abuse will have an abusive household of their own where they may be subjected to physical or mental abuse for even speaking of it -- most times if they do come to police they may not be believed or taken seriously. When I went through my own incident I was scared to tell until a month later because I was afraid to be yelled at for it by my mother. As well when police HAD investigated it nobody believed the story I had told as it wasn't "Normal" for a victim to be just picked up on the road. (Where my incident first started) It's very sad and sick to know that this is what this man put these girls through and it's HORRIBLE what victims are put through today both online and in real life. And to anyone who has struggled with SA I just want you to know it is not your fault what happened to you and if you did tell you did the right thing!! I understand some may not have had the trials for these horrible people they may have wanted but I just want you to know that those people who did this to you WILL get karma someday for their actions.... ❤ And to anyone who read this through all the way and has not suffered from these kinds of vial actions I hope this gave you a little more info on it.
