Smart move. I had a dinner date once with a girl I met online. She actually messaged me first and we exchanged numbers. She seemed cool and interested in me so we set up a dinner date. It went absolutely terribly. She was all distant and quiet, I was the one asking all the questions and trying to carry the conversations and she didn't ask any questions about me and didn't talk at all unless I was asking questions about her. This was the part where I told myself "time to go". I just got a simple appetizer since I wanted to get out of there, I quickly ate, split the bill (yea, there was not a chance in hell I was paying for her meal) and left. She wasn't even close to finishing her meal and I bolted saying a simple "bye" to her. Biggest waste of time ever.

@Michael Brown I agree! And like Taylor said it, the bf probably caught on to that fact right after her gourmet efforts... but I think that is what Random is saying and I am expanding on... women have it so easy in the dating world they can lie about being able to cook and men will tolerate it... but women want to think they have it as hard as men so they get upset by the "double standard" of getting someone to go have "bedroom fun" with them because they actually think they have to put in the same effort as a man does getting a partner into bed...

Not usually... but men will look at it and say: ehhhh, I like her for other reasons and this is not that important to me. And by other reasons, I am not just saying sex, he could like her for who she is in other aspects and character attributes. It really should matter to a man if a woman lies... by letting it slide like men do, it capitulates to women's lack of accountability. It also speaks to the fact that dating for women is so much easier than it is for men, cause men have a higher level of tolerance for womens bs.....

A tip for younger men: a woman that knows how to cook will look in your pantry and or fridge. She wants to show off skills and impress you so she needs to know what she has to work with ingredients wise. Really good cooks will sometimes bring groceries to know they have what they need for the dish they specialize in... if the woman doesn't know how to find the kitchen let alone the pantry or fridge... she lied about being able to cook.

For me it is no different than asking if you like to dance, it is just a fact about you that either you do or do not. There is no right or wrong answer, there is just the truth about you. My comment is based on personal observations of women I have dated. To be honest, I am not as good of a cook as you are, but i like to cook. What i really like even more is cooking with the woman I am dating. I enjoy being able to work together and having the time to talk. Ya, this may sound lame and not befitting of the atypical "stereotype male" but as I am sure you can agree, stereotypes aren't great and do not fit everyone. I don't feel a woman SHOULD be able to cook, cause I am happy to show what I know and we can learn new things together... what really matters, is can the woman just tell the truth, and are they willing and open to learning and trying new and different thing together.... for me, if we do things together, especially new things for us both, we get to grow together rather than growing apart. This does not mean we have to have all the same interests, just a willingness to be on the adventure together.... but it all has to start with being honest.

Maybe it sounds selfish, especially to women, but the whole marriage thing, including the cost of raising all the kids she wants is a huge responsibility & financial burden for any man stupid enough to fall into that trap. If women want all that, then let women pay for it themselves... not expect some man or the government to pay for it all. I have remained single for 77 years and every man that I know that is married with children envies the hell out of me and deep down, he regrets he was so stupid and got married. The majority of those men's wives are way overweight, short, have a fat gut, and a huge butt. They are constantly shopping, pissing off money on themselves, on the kids, and buying total junk. They keep their husbands' balls in their purses and control every aspect of his life. In their eyes, he is nothing more than a walking ATM machine to provide the wife with everything she wants while he is not allowed to spend his hard-earned money on anything he wants. No wonder marriage is called "The Old Ball & Chain." I can barely imagine being trapped in such a nightmare... with the only way out being divorce or death... and if you get divorced... we all know how that ends, with the man losing at least half or more of everything he has worked his ass off to acquire. If the truth was known, through DNA testing... the majority of the kids these men are paying for are not even their kids because the majority of females out here cheat. It appears to be female nature for them to do so. The bottom line is.... marriage is really a rotten deal for any man stupid enough to fall into the trap. Remaining single and having complete Freedom in your life... complete use of all of your money and resources is the only option for a man. Thanks to the Internet, more men every day are waking up to the reality of marriage and women everywhere are totally freaking out. Traditional marriage is dead. The future belongs to the men that remain single and go their own way.

Out of the ones who have since ended up single, ALL of them UNANIMOUSLY not only said I was right, but said that if anything, I had undersold how bad it actually was out there. This is coming from people who thought I was exaggerating when I said how bad the dating scene is Let that sink in. You keep saying that women are disconnected from reality. I think you make a good point. I would say that most women live in their fantasy worlds. They want a man who's going to fit the part of the perfect guy. Like it's a movie. She doesn't tell him what she wants, he's supposed to know his lines. She wants no responsibility for making a choice, for having an opinion. The only point at which she'll express an opinion is when she's being overly critical. She wants support... she wants attention... she wants sex... she wants advice. Well, when he wants these things he's a loser, he's a sex fiend, he's pathetic. She'll be brutal with him. Because he will be out of character... not portraying the role she has him cast in.
